They want a larger size by one or two numbers because there is padding inside that tightens the inside of the shoe quite a bit.

Like a regular shoe, it doesn't look like the usual plastic that rain boots usually look like, and I wore them perfectly at work and in the snow and rain.

They have lining and are very warm.
