  I bought a pentameter a year ago to put behind the TV and so far I am very satisfied! I bought 2 more 3 months ago for other furniture in the living room and the result is impressive! Even if a LED burns out, you won't notice it. I bought them for the different colors they emit, not for the white that they don't emit. The app is very convenient. There is a possibility that I will buy a fourth one in the future. I highly recommend it, especially considering its price!

  I bought 4 pieces for installing hidden lighting in a new house a year ago. The installation was very easy, and the adhesive was very good. The first LED strip was installed early, in April 2022. Within 4 months, the controller broke after a total of 60 hours of use, which is an average of 15 hours per month. When it was turned off, either through the app or the button on the controller, it remained lit in red and the colors appeared incorrectly. I considered it to be a defective product and requested a replacement. In August, when I received the replacement, I installed two more in another room, so there were a total of 3 strips from sealed boxes, 1 replacement, and 2 from April. In February 2023, just before the 6-month mark of installation, the 2 strips from the other room, which had not exceeded 15 hours of use, presented the same problem again. Among them was the strip that had already been replaced because it was defective! They still wouldn't turn off and remained permanently in one color. The only way to turn them off was to unplug them.

  I decided to return all of them to get my money back because when 3 out of 4 strips have the same problem, all within 6 months and without significant use, it is clear that the product has a problem. Consumer law states that any problem occurring within 6 months is deemed to have existed since the product's manufacturing, meaning from the beginning, and therefore, it should be replaced. Anything else claimed by the stores is nonsense and undoubtedly goes against their legal obligations.

  With my second return, I returned 1 sealed strip that I hadn't even opened, the 2 that broke again, one of which had already been replaced, and 1 that was still functioning but I didn't want to risk it. Apart from the inconvenience, the purchase of the LED strips also caused damage since they have a strong adhesive. Removing them required repainting the areas where the strip was located. Fortunately, I avoided this because I had no intention of putting them on and taking them off every six months.

  These TP-Link LED strips come to complement the latest series of TP-Link products of all kinds, which disappoint with their low quality, as they generally have many problems, especially in their networking products.

  It is RGB (as stated on the packaging). This means that the LED strip does not have white, but simulates it using the other 3 colors, resulting in a white that is quite cool towards pink, and there is no possibility to control the temperature of the white.

  The brightness of the lighting is also very low and is only suitable for decoration and not for use as regular lighting in a space. Compared to a simple white LED strip of 5 years, the Tapo produces at most 1/5 of the brightness in white.

  Furthermore, the strip does not have resin coating, so it is not waterproof at all and does not have any light diffusion (but of course, this also helps in developing lower temperatures).

  The installation is very easy, as well as the use with the application. With the installation of the Tapo skill for Alexa, voice control is also very easy.

  The response is immediate and if you activate the corresponding option in the application, the transition between colors and on/off is smooth, comparable to Hue and Yeelight.

  It is also positive that it has various lighting effects (e.g. lightning, Christmas, Northern Lights, candle, haunted house, etc.).

  Negative for me is that while all the parts of the LED strip are white (wires, buttons, strip, etc.), the power supply is black and stands out very badly.

  Just be careful with the installation because the adhesive is very strong.

  Edit: After a year of use, it presented the same problem that a buyer mentions here in the comments. It displays different colors than the ones I choose through the app. Generally, no function works correctly and you can't turn it off through the app. I simply unplug it.

  It's a shame because I was excited about the product in the first few months and the scheduled on/off function was very convenient for me.
