It does an excellent job. All foam rollers are made of this material and yes, when you use it correctly it will hurt but the tight spot will be solved and relieved with persistence and patience

It is useful and lightweight. The only slightly annoying thing is the texture of the material, which is not smooth and bothers a little when in contact with the skin.
