Description

The Ibanez GSA60 is aimed at those starting their practice in playing the electric guitar. It is suitable for many genres of music, such as rock, pop, blues, and metal, and features characteristics like a soft neck for ease of play and powerful pickups for intense sound.

Additionally, its affordable price makes it a good choice for beginner musicians looking for a reliable option.

HSS Pickup Configuration

The HSS (Humbucker-Singlecoil-Singlecoil) pickup configuration is one of the most popular pickup configurations.

In this configuration, there are three pickups on the guitar body: a humbucker in the bridge position and two single coils in the middle and neck positions.

The two single coil pickups offer a clean and clear sound, as well as good response in the lower mids. The humbucker pickup, on the other hand, provides a warmer and richer sound, as well as greater resistance to feedback.

With this configuration, guitarists can choose different pickup combinations, thus offering greater flexibility.

Neck construction from Maple wood

The Maple wood on the neck is an important element for the guitar's acoustics, as it produces a bright and precise tone resulting from the wood's hardness.

Body construction from Okoume wood

The body of the GSA60 is made from Okoume wood, which is lightweight and has relatively low density, allowing it to produce a clear sound with balanced response in bass, mid, and treble.

Classic ST Body Shape

The ST body shape it features follows the lines of one of the most widespread electric guitars, like the Stratocaster. Its design has a double-cut body for access to the highest frets and an extended "horn" on the upper side that offers perfect balance during upright playing.

With a wide range of supporters, including Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Holly, David Gilmour, and Jeff Beck, it is clear that the ST Style shape can handle virtually any musical style.

Tremolo T102

The T102 bridge with a string spacing of 10.5 millimeters allows for easier string pick-up.

A first impression after several months of using this specific guitar. Among the positives, the very convenient maple neck stands out. It is thin with a satin feel, you don't feel the frets on the edges, and overall it is very comfortable to play, like playing with a Stratocaster. The specific brown sunburst color is very nice to the eye as the wood color gives a retro feeling, and the body is small compared to other similar models, making it ideal for those who don't want a bulky guitar. As for its weight, it is heavier than I would like (but not tiring), and this is due to the mahogany body that it has, while the current model has changed the body wood to Okume and the pickups have been changed to Infinity by Powersound, which is what mine has. The weight is perceived differently by everyone. As for the sound, it is full thanks to the Ibanez pickups and it produces a warmer and deeper sound compared to other Gio Ibanez models, and that's why I chose it. But it's not something exceptional, it's the classic ceramic pickups that Ibanez and Cort guitars used to have, but it covers many genres of music from rock to jazz and metal. The tremolo has capabilities, although when you use it, it loses its tuning, but without the tremolo, the bridge on this GSA-60 is great and you will appreciate it if you choose this guitar. Overall, it is a model with many years of good reviews, a balanced instrument that is suitable for both amateurs and comfortable on live stages, with its strong points being the neck, comfortable and fast playing, and the relatively small body of the guitar. I also liked that the instrument stays generally in tune, which is a big positive. A very honest recommendation for everyone!
