It is not a regular rug, underneath it has fabric with some non-slip designs and can be washed in the washing machine. It cannot be vacuumed with an electric one, it lifts it up. As soon as I washed it according to the instructions, it completely lost its shape and became crooked everywhere. You walk on it and it comes undone. It's like having a blanket on the floor. If I had understood this from the description, I wouldn't have bought it. However, it has a very nice design and it does glow in the dark.
