Description

The LTD EC-1000 series guitars are designed to offer the sound, feel, look, and quality that professional musicians need in an instrument.

The EC-1000 is consistently one of the most popular guitars due to its combination of incredible looks and outstanding performance. It features a body, neck, and headstock with a vintage appearance and gold details, while including top-notch components such as LTD locking tuners, Tonepros locking TOM bridge and tailpiece, and aggressive active EMG 81/60 pickups.

The EC-1000 electric guitar is primarily aimed at musicians and guitarists who play genres like rock, metal, and heavy metal. It is suitable for those seeking a quality guitar for professional use, for musical bands, or for use in the recording studio.

HH Pickup Configuration (Humbucker-Humbucker)

Active EMG 81 & EMG 60

This layout includes two humbucker pickups, which are mounted in the position of the central pickup and the bridge pickup of the guitar.

The humbucker pickups offer better response to low frequencies and bass sound, as well as greater resistance to noise. This makes the guitar suitable for loud riffs and solos.

Equipped with active pickups, which require a battery to operate. The advantages of active pickups compared to passive pickups are that they almost eliminate noise and have a high output signal, resulting in a fairly clean and "thick" sound.

Body and neck construction from mahogany (Mahogany)

The mahogany wood it features offers a rich, warm, and deep sound, with strong bass and well-balanced mid and high treble. This sound is suitable for many music styles, such as rock, blues, jazz, and heavy metal.

Fretboard made of durable Ebony wood for a hard, stable, and dark sound.

The Ebony wood featured in the LTD EC 1000 offers a hard, stable, dark "full" sound compared to other woods, such as Rosewood or Maple. This makes it suitable for musical genres like metal, rock, and jazz, where a sound with more sharpness and intensity is required.

Additionally, its high density provides stability to the fretboard, aiding in the reproduction of frequencies with more accuracy and balance.

Les Paul style body shape

The electric guitar ESP LTD EC 1000 has a Les Paul style body shape, which is one of the most widespread shapes in electric guitars.

This shape was created by guitarist and inventor Les Paul and is a timeless design that is popular among musicians of all genres and experience levels.

About ESP

  • Purchase December 2023. Manufacturing series July 2013 in Korea by World Music Instrument. The build quality is flawless. The glossy black color has a very nice depth and the detail of the shells around and on the frets fits incredibly well. The guitar, no matter how much bending one does on the strings, does not go out of tune at all. I have put 10 gauge D'Addario XL strings on it in standard tuning and in combination with the EMG pickups, they give a rich and heavy sound on the lower pickup and a heavy warm sound on the upper. For those who want to play metal and hard rock, it is a very good choice. For more rock and blues, it is okay on the neck pickup. In standing play, it has a nice weight distribution overall, but it remains a quite heavy guitar. It is worth the money if one can find one made in Korea. The ones made in Indonesia and China are okay, but in terms of construction, they do not reach the Korean ones...

I had tried it in the past with EMG and Fishman Fluence and with Duncan pickups, and the truth is that the Duncan pickups won me over because of their richer and warmer sound.

I was a bit hesitant to buy it because after 2016, most of its models are made in Indonesia and compared to Korea, there are many differences in terms of build quality.

A video that shows the construction of Korea/Indonesia is this one:

To my surprise, my model is made in Korea and it is evident in the quality of the frets/painting/bridge/saddles/tuners.

I changed the strings from the first day to Ernie Ball 12-56 cobalt and tuned it to drop C, and the guitar simply soared. Its sound is amazing, as if I received another musical instrument.

    It is worth its money.

Compared to other guitars I tried before buying it, such as the Schecter Custom Solo II or the Epiphone Les Paul Custom Prophecy Plus or the ESP LTD, it is far superior in terms of sound and build quality, and it is also very lightweight (2.2kg).

If you manage to find the same model but with the Evertune Bridge for approximately the same price (1100-1300), it is worth choosing that model, especially if you play for hours in the studio, as you will never need to tune it and it literally saves your hands.
