Regarding the type of carbohydrates, the carbohydrate profile in Hammer Gel includes only long-chain complex carbohydrates, with just 7.4% mono- and disaccharides, and 92.6% long-chain carbohydrates.

Simple sugars such as sucrose, fructose, and galactose are defined as monosaccharides or disaccharides and increase osmolarity. This can cause gastric distress, cramps, and premature fatigue.
