I have the mobile for over a year,
I give it three stars because the photos and videos are unacceptable at this price,
With an old Nokia that I bought for 80 euros, I took much better photos.
Also, the battery charges as fast as it drains with regular use,
Well, I will focus on the negatives because the positives have already been mentioned. The main disadvantage is the sound quality in a recorded video. The quality is TERRIBLE, as if I bought a mobile phone from a decade ago. I tried it in a concert venue and there I realized that I couldn't hear anything, just a noise. And for the record, I present you a comparison:
https://www.dxomark.com/realme-gt-5g-audio-review-strengths-in-spatial-and-volume/
So, 3 stars and that's being generous because this is now bordering on defective
I bought the phone on 09/06/22 and it cost me €285, plus a case and a screen protector, I paid a total of €300 and I considered it an excellent purchase. BUT... Compared to my previous phone (Realme x2 pro), I didn't see any significant improvements.
The cameras are average, the photos and videos (especially at night or in low light conditions) are in line with the low purchase price.
The speaker sound is equally loud, but not as clear, it sounds slightly muffled at maximum volume.
The battery life is shorter despite having a larger capacity, and the charging time, although extremely fast, is slightly longer.
The processor is more power-hungry, which results in higher energy consumption and shorter battery life. Additionally, the phone heats up to acceptable levels, something that never happened with my previous phone. And all of this for a few milliseconds of faster speed.
However, these are not the reasons why I rate it with one star and regret my purchase.
I cannot justify in any way that the flagship of 2021 from a company that wants to dominate the market still has the old UI (2.0), is still on Android 11, and has security updates from August 2021!!! Especially when the x2 pro (a 2019 model) has security updates from November 2021!!! Solutions that I found online, like using a VPN or changing the region to Italy or Germany or any other country, I find them humiliating for the company and for us as customers.
Finally, not to bore you any further, for anyone who is "suspicious," I attach screenshots from both phones and I mention that I have a review on Skroutz for the realme x2 pro.
UPDATE:
27/07/22 - finally, the software update to UI 3.0 and Android 12 arrived, but with security updates from April 2022, while Samsung started theirs in August.
25/07/23 - unexpectedly, a software update to UI 4.0 and Android 13 was released, but with security updates from April 2023. In the end, you get what you pay for.
4/5 because 1) I would like better sound quality from the speakers and better customization of Atmos, 2) Slightly better battery, but with the Snapdragon 888 it's unlikely, although the incredibly fast 65w charging compensates in the end, and 3) an IP68 rating would be very welcome, 4) A 6.7-6.8'' screen with higher resolution would make me happier!
It has a 3.5mm port which even if it was missing, it wouldn't bother me at all, and the absence of an sdcard in the 256gb version still doesn't bother me at all.
On the positive side, the yellow with leather back is beautiful and sturdy, nice screen, satisfactory camera for its category and it soars with gcam. Lightweight, beautiful, and fast UI especially the 3.0 with Android 12!! The fingerprint reader is fast, instant recognition!
Very good performance in every task due to the Snapdragon 888, good photos, 120Hz screen, etc, etc.
All positives except for the battery life... In applications that run at 120Hz in adaptive mode, the battery drains very quickly... It may need to be charged twice a day, definitely once.
But, it charges from 20% to 80% in 20 minutes, maybe even slightly faster, with the included charger+cable... So for me, the battery issue is covered by the very fast charging and I recommend the smartphone 100%.
The mobile is incredible in terms of software, very fast in everything, normal photos, battery like all, I charge it every 24 hours until the morning and it's full, incredible speaker, I have the racing yellow which even though I hadn't seen it up close, it impressed me!
The screen protection that the company already has is a big deal. The battery runs out quickly, but it's a matter of resolution settings and it also charges very, very, very quickly. Photos and videos are satisfactory (I didn't buy it for those). The issue is the battery. I have an application that shows the battery capacity and its life, and it shows me that it has dropped by half in two months. Don't forget, charging it after completion damages its battery life (another reason because of the fast charger)
Very good mobile phone, sturdy construction, fast, beautiful screen. The battery lasts a day with normal use, and it has incredibly fast charging! The camera is not anything amazing, but for the average user, it is great. Overall, highly recommended!
First of all, I will say that for the price (I got it for 400€) it is perhaps the best choice today. Very fast, the realme ui is very good and lightweight. Its screen is amazing. The battery lasts almost a day with plenty of use and charges quickly. I will focus on the only negative (I won't comment on the lack of ip rating and gorilla glass), which is the camera. It could have been better at this price level. I don't understand other users who have posted positive comments about the photos, they are unacceptable. However, if that doesn't matter to someone, then the choice at this price is definitely ideal.
The phone for its money is very good. It could definitely have a better camera, but if someone like me is not crazy about perfect photos, it's fine. In everything else, it doesn't lack anything compared to other more expensive phones. The fast charging impressed me! For me, if the 6.4 inches don't bother you, get it with your eyes closed. I am completely satisfied with the purchase.
I have had the phone for two weeks now, coming from realme X2 Pro and previous experiences with OnePlus and Xiaomi.
I am very satisfied with its operating system, it is something between Xiaomi (without bugs and ads) and OnePlus (more customizable). Since the user experience is very important to me, I went back there. The screen is very good and will satisfy 90% of users. The speaker is fine, but the camera is not its strong point, although it performs well during the day and surprisingly in videos.
If it's worth switching from X2 Pro for me, yes, but it depends on what one expects. If someone changes their phone every three years, then definitely. If someone is constantly looking for the latest processor every 9 months, they will see smaller differences, but they will still notice them.
In terms of brightness, there are no issues in daylight.
As for the Snapdragon 888, I don't have any overheating problems, but I don't play games, so it doesn't heat up or lag. It is definitely much faster than anything else you have seen.
In conclusion, if you want to know why Oxygen/realme UI is considered the best user interface by many and you are not looking for Huawei-level photography (for the specific price range), go for it without hesitation.
