- Immerse the stone in water for about 10 minutes. When you no longer see air bubbles reaching the top of the water, the stone will have absorbed the correct amount of water.
- Place the stone on a flat, non-slip surface with the side you wish to use facing up.
- The choice of side depends on the size of the blade's problem.
- Move the blade back and forth along the stone several times, at the correct angle for your knife.
- While sharpening, it is important for the sharpening stone to remain wet. The small particles released from the stone form an abrasive substance when they come into contact with water.
- Repeat the process on the other side of the blade.
- Once this is completed, turn the stone to the fine side and repeat the process.
- Finally, rinse your knives in warm water and leave the stone in an outdoor area until it is completely dry.
