As neither the whistle can be heard nor does it have a good spark.
If you want something for this purpose, get something more expensive

Quite good is the best thing for its price. The compass works well, the sparkler works but it is almost impossible to light a fire with it (due to its small size). The blade is not the best, but after sharpening it, it is better. The whistle works perfectly and you can adjust it by hand (how tight or loose you want it). As I mentioned, for its price, it is very good
