The plastic is NOT hard. If you fill it, the handle bends.
For your kitchen, if you need a measuring cup, you will get something more sturdy.
I bought it to measure agricultural chemicals.
It will do the job just fine.

It doesn't do the job well at all because on the third time it was filled, the handle finally broke. Absolutely terrible.
