Very good for its price, silent, but for those who want to install a graphics card, it's not worth it; you only get this if you don't plan to install a graphics card in your PC. However, for its price, buy it with your eyes closed
As soon as you hold it in your hands, you realize that it has quality construction. Plenty of plugs-connections with high-quality cables. In a full tower, I did not encounter any problems with cable management. If you have cooling fans in the tower, you definitely won't hear the power supply's fan.
Heavy therefore good build quality compared to what I replaced which was larger in size and much lighter. Truly quiet, inside a box that has no insulation at all. Stable in its operation and with quality cables with plenty of length.
I have had this specific power supply for a year and it has not presented any problems whatsoever. I highly recommend it.
It's a bit heavy for such a small power supply and what impressed me is that it has 2 triple SATA power connectors for hard drives! It has a high-quality power cable! It has nothing to envy from other power supplies of the same company! Additionally, the 5v rail is maintained at 5.064v to 5.088v.
If there's one "issue" it's that it's a "closed box" (not modular), so you may end up with a lot of cables inside the tower (and they're quite stiff, so it may be a bit difficult). Otherwise, it's very good.
This is truly the only power supply that hasn't burned out on me yet. I've had it for about two months and the use my son puts it through on his computer is beyond imagination. Since it has held up, I give it 5 full stars.
Okay, Corsair, you get what you pay for, very good value for money, quiet and has plenty of connections.
Top product from a top company in the power supply industry. Buy Corsair with your eyes closed.
After a week, the fan started making a continuous annoying noise from its bearing! There have been several bad reports about the fan. It's better to get something else so you don't end up with a defective batch.
One of the best power supplies at its price point, with the only issue being that its cables are not very flexible and can make building difficult.
I have the CV 550W for 11 months. 3 stars because the GTX 1650 only works properly with MSI Afterburner, correctly with undervolt in MSI Afterburner because heavy games had freezes. When I installed the GTX 1650, the PC froze without the settings of the MSI Afterburner program. For entry gaming level Nvidia cards, you need a power supply larger than 550 Watts to avoid problems with the PC.
In heavy games,
the GPU Utilization with the GTX 1650 (non-super):
GTA DE TRILOGY: 80-87%
Fallout 4: 67%
Forza Horizon 4: 70-77%
The Elder Scrolls V Special Edition: 67-77%
My build is:
MSI B450m bazooka max wi-fi motherboard.
Corsair CV 550
AMD Ryzen 5 2600x
MSI GTX 1650 (normal)
Sandisk Sata 3 SSD 1 TB
Gigabyte Aorus RGB SSD 512GB M.2 NVMe
Without being knowledgeable in the i3 4130 16gb + gtx 1050ti system and some RGB fans, you can't even hear it. It's a very good purchase, only based on reviews since I have no idea, but nonetheless it's a very good machine.
Quiet, easy to install, and if you don't need more than two SATA connections, you're covered. Stable performance and protection when needed during power outages.
I have it for 2-3 months now and I have no complaints regarding its performance, it is silent, small, the construction is good, and overall I consider it value for money. The only negative is that its cables are somewhat stiff, making cable management somewhat difficult, but it's not a major issue.
For its price, it is very good. It doesn't make much noise and is almost silent. For its price, it's worth 100%.
Small in size, but the sound is as if it's not inside the box. It comes with all the necessary cables for both disks and graphics cards. It's easy to manage cables. It's of high quality and sturdy.
I have had this power supply for a day now and from the first day it broke. Immediately after playing for about 3 hours, the computer shut down on its own without me even touching anything. Initially, I checked if the drivers were up to date and they were indeed. Then, after investigating a bit, I realized that the power supply was not providing the appropriate amount of power for the computer to function properly, resulting in it crashing on its own. After the first time it shut down on its own while I was playing, it even shut down on the desktop. Generally, during the 3 hours I played, it was quiet. This particular power supply probably has some problem, but luckily the warranty covers me. Just know that if you get this power supply, it might happen to you too.
Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful day!
The most value for money and it's really quiet compared to other power supplies. I use it for gaming and I really have the impression that it's not working.
Generally, one of the most vfm power supplies on the market, whether you choose the 450w or the 550w. Reliable as one would expect from Corsair.
I bought the 550W two weeks ago for a system with i5 2400 and rx 470. Everything was fine until it started to emit a smell like burning plastic for five minutes and stopped. And now I ask myself WHY WOULD IT PRESENT SUCH A THING AFTER TWO WEEKS IN A COMPUTER WITH A CONSUMPTION OF 430-450w
Update: On 5/4, a technician told me that Corsair made many changes to the CV. Now the best option is the 650 as it has not only 100w more but also a better and quieter fan, as well as better construction components (capacitors, plastics, etc.).
I can say that it's a decent power supply for the 40€ I spent. Of course, if you have my case, it's not the best due to the lack of flat cables in the back. However, the cables are long enough and there are plenty of connections, which is great for a 450w power supply. They are also nicely dressed, resulting in a beautiful system that makes a little noise, but not to the point of being annoying. I don't understand why some people complain about the thick cables.
But with a 1050 ti, you're stuck with 450w, and with some implementations of the 1060, not all, but if you go for a more powerful one, 550w would be better. However, it's a power supply for budget systems. Don't spend 2000€ on everything else and only 60€ on the power supply, it's a shame.
I wouldn't choose it for a future purchase, guys, as I had it for 3 months and it caused a problem. The worst thing. It made a crazy noise.
4 stars because after 2 months the fan started making occasional noise, but when I turned it downwards, it stopped. Note that cable management is a bit difficult due to the thick cables and casing, but the quality is top-notch.
The king of entry level budget PSUs. I have built 3 PCs with this specific one, 2 for friends and one for myself. It performs flawlessly and quietly, delivering on its promises. From now on, we will see its durability over time.
System specs:
Ryzen 5 2600
GTX 1060 6 GB
16 GB RAM
B450 Tomahawk Max
The power supply is aimed at individuals who want to build a low budget system. For its price, it is quite high quality. It has a large number of connectors that allow you to add multiple hard drives and other devices if you have it in an office for file storage. In terms of build quality, it feels quite sturdy and you don't feel like you're holding something cheap. Finally, its size is quite compact. It is smaller than an ATX PSU, which makes it fit anywhere and gives you ease in cable management. (Note: it is not SFX). It can also be used in a gaming system with reasonable specs. At a price of 40 euros, it has no rival. For example, check out the build I put it in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8EkT0qcuTA
Hello guys, so the power supply for the money is unbeatable, it does its job very well and quietly! And for someone who is building a budget PC, I definitely recommend it. The cable management is not the best, but since it is non-modular, you don't need anything more. For me personally, it does its job and more, it also has all the necessary cables like 8pin etc... ⚡
It is a very good middle solution between cx and vs. It is sturdy with plenty of connections and absolutely silent. It has not caused me any issues so far. At around 50 euros, it is one of the best options.
The power supply is based on the same company's VS platform, but many notable improvements have been made. For the money it asks, it is amazing and one of the best options the market has to offer. It has some issues with its temperatures and fan noise if pushed too hard on consumption, but even at 100% of its power, it can withstand without any problem.
