The TL-WR841N from TP-LINK is a router, a device to which other devices (e.g., computer, mobile phone, television) connect either wirelessly or via cable, and to which it distributes internet access. For internet access, it needs to be connected to a modem. It is a Wi‑Fi 4 generation, an older generation recommended for use with a few devices and for applications that do not require high speeds. It broadcasts a signal on one frequency, 2.4Ghz, which offers lower speed compared to those that broadcast on 2 (dual) or 3 (tri-band) frequencies. The 2.4Ghz frequency is the most widespread and has a long range.
The device has VPN (Virtual Private Network) configuration capability so that traffic from all devices on our network passes through it. The VPN acts as an intermediary between us and the rest of the internet, allowing us to give the impression that we are geographically in another country, and the pages we visit see the VPN address as the visitor's address and not our own. This provides us with anonymity and access to geographically restricted content. VPN services are usually paid with a subscription.
It features an SPI firewall, a mechanism that checks data traffic for patterns of known attack types (e.g., DDoS). With MAC address filtering, it allows specific devices to connect based on their unique MAC address, blocking any device with a MAC address that has not been designated as acceptable. It offers WPA2 security, a protocol that replaced WPA in 2004 and uses AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) technology, which is approved by the U.S. government for classified documents. It is considered safe for home use.
300Mbps Wireless N Speed - Fast download speed
The TL-WR841N from TP-Link is a high-speed solution that is compatible with IEEE 802.11 b/g/n. Based on 802.11n technology, the TL-WR841N provides users with wireless performance of up to 300Mbps, which can meet the most demanding home networking needs, such as HD streaming, online gaming, and downloading large files.

Stylish and very functional. Works on all two floors of the house. Walls 60 cm thick do not stop him. There is a function WISP. That is, it works as a repeater and amplifier of any signal WiFi that is available to you. Will amplify and give back to all users in the house, effortlessly.
I mainly bought it for use as an Access Point, easy to set up, and simple to use, it also has 4 Ethernet LAN and 1 Ethernet WAN from where it gets the internet. It has satisfactory range
For single band (2.4), it's good but I don't recommend it to anyone with speeds above 15Mbps because it won't reach them wirelessly, the speed it claims as 300Mbps doesn't work. It's better to get a dual band with 5G.
I have connected it very easily and I have it taking with a 20-meter ethernet cable...very fast despite the length of the cable. Stable internet and wifi on devices. No problem!
I will also describe my experience with this specific router because it seems to me that there is a lot of misinformation here. First of all, I have a 10Mbps WAN line with verified speed. To distribute it to the LAN, it only provides 1Mbps! on the ports and a maximum of 4 on the wireless (which is enough for me). I mainly bought it to convert it into a wireless router for other devices, but it frequently disconnects, so I constantly have to get up to turn it on and off. HOWEVER, you can load different firmware on it, such as DD-WRT (if someone wants, I can tell them how), and make it stable, although the speeds do not change.
Conclusion: maybe the low price plays a role, but I do not recommend not buying it. Someone who mainly wants it for wireless is worth it because it has a VERY strong signal with such antennas and it is cheap. However, the 300N should be turned off from the box because it is neither 300, nor a proper N (it does not support 5GHz frequency)
I bought it to install it in the living room for various wireless devices (tablets, mobile phones) and it works perfectly and flawlessly. With the signal strength set to LOW, it has a very strong signal everywhere in the apartment. As for the construction, it looks very simple and cheap, but it is "devilish" for the purpose it is intended for.
Since I bought it, I have been at ease. There are constantly 3-4 devices connected to the network (laptop, mobile phones, tablet, wifi printer) and more devices (mostly mobile phones) dynamically join without any problems.
The connection of any device to the network is immediate and without issues.
4 out of 5 because occasionally it needs a restart!
