  My kids gave them to me as a birthday gift. As soon as you open the box, you realize that you have a quality shoe. The truth is that the leather is hard and you need to walk quite a few kilometers to get used to them, (but I knew that, in the past I had bought the boots). However, you know that you will have them for many years. The sole is soft and fits perfectly on my foot arch.
  I have had them for a year and with a wipe with a cloth they are exactly as I took them out of the box the first time. There is also a special wax for Dr. Martens shoes that is good for leather maintenance.
  They may be a bit expensive, but I know that I will have them for the next few years (exactly in their original form). For me, they are definitely worth the money you will spend.
