At first, the Gore-Tex membrane didn't get wet and water didn't penetrate, but later, perhaps due to washing (by hand?), the fabric got damp, not that it let water through like a regular shoe, but it did let some in. Also, after about a year, it started to tear on the side, see photo; the laces also often come undone by themselves. Other than that, good fit and feel.

Did you find this review helpful?I bought these shoes for coastal fishing in adverse conditions. A lot of walking on rocks, stones, dirt, bushes, mud, sand, seawater, etc. I put them through a crash test during a 5-day outing with over 35 hours of total hard use. I only had one negative experience. And since it's due to extreme use, I won't hold it against them. Very good grip, I had no issues either in the water I was stepping on or afterwards when the shoes and socks were wet. They didn't hurt me in any part of the sole and fit perfectly.
I have no opinion on the bottom sole because I replaced it with another one from Vibram.
The issue I noticed is that sometimes on rocky terrain, the front protrusions of the sole would "catch" on dirt, stones, branches, etc. Not that I would stumble, but various things would get stuck. Because of this, the front part of the sole slightly detached from the fabric.

The first few days they hit excessively in the sides.. not even for warm weather, very "closed" shoe and the foot doesn't breathe, it boils inside.

At first, I was disappointed because while I wear 42 2/3 in all Salomon shoes, this one turned out to be slightly bigger, so it's better to try it before ordering it.
I removed the insoles it came with and replaced them with carbosan orthopedic insoles and everything was fixed. Another shoe with these insoles!
The shoe has good construction.
It was tested in water and it is waterproof.
I have been wearing them in an urban environment for about two months.
On smooth surfaces, it doesn't have good grip, especially on wet ones, so be careful.
Overall, it is a good shoe for the price up to 80 euros.
