The 2-way Foley catheters are made of latex with a silicone coating (siliconized). The catheter's lumen is wide, and its lateral holes are smooth to avoid injury during catheterization.

The water chamber (balloon) is reinforced, inflates symmetrically, and has a capacity of 30ml.

The most commonly used urethral catheter is the 2-way Foley catheter, which consists of:

• Channel body (one lumen for urine drainage and one for the inflation and deflation of the balloon)
• Round tip with balloon to keep it in place
• Two drainage holes at the ends of the balloon
