Today I used it for the first time, I processed around 70 kilos of tomatoes, it's perfect!! I only needed to clean it once. I had boiled the tomatoes first for 10 minutes. And I passed them through only once. I am very satisfied with my choice.
I bought it a month ago. I have already used it several times making sauce with 25 kilos of tomatoes each time. It is easy and quick to assemble. It is definitely not for professional use, but for home use it is perfect. Before putting the tomatoes in the machine, I washed them, scored them crosswise on the bottom, blanched them for a few minutes in a pot of boiling water, and finally, after removing them with a slotted spoon, I cut them into quarters to check for any worms inside and in a size that would fit into the machine's chute. I passed the peels and seeds that the machine produces through a second time, resulting in no juice in the final waste. I boiled the juice in a pot for about 40 minutes, adding a little salt and a little sugar for acidity. The process is done on a kitchen counter by placing the machine on a small platform. The machine disassembles easily and the parts can be washed in a basin of water. For the job I wanted it for, if it does not present any mechanical problems in the future, it is flawless. P.S. I do not know if it is worth the effort for very small quantities of tomatoes, two to three kilos, for someone to take it out of the box, assemble it, etc. It depends on the time and disposition of each individual.
It makes a perfect sauce if you boil it for 10 minutes and then it passes more easily in the middle and with the second time only the peel remains with the seeds like bran. Of course, it also passes more easily without boiling if you cut it into 4 pieces, but it takes 3 to 4 passes. In the first pass, you don't want to overload the machine with the plastic ladle because it will clog and you will need to stop and clean it. Anyway, with 70 kilos and boiling the tomatoes first, I had to do 2 cleanings until I realized why it was clogging. In one day, I passed 70 kilos and packed them very easily, while with the old plastic one that cost 15 euros, I couldn't pass more than 15 to 20 kilos with the same process and of course, it was tiring and required more passes.
