I will mention the biggest downside that exists.....the dock station easily damages the connector that transfers the signal from the console to the TV...... In my opinion, you have three options: either you buy all the games digitally so you don't have to keep inserting and removing discs..... or you buy an HDMI adapter with USB-C, or you go for the expensive solution of buying a new dock which costs about 100€.
It doesn't have the best resolution by modern standards, but the games it has like Zelda and Metroid are unique, and also amazing portability as you can take it with you wherever you want.
For some reason when I bought it, it was cheaper than the 19 model which is older and doesn't have an OLED screen...
Gift for my boyfriend, along with Pokémon Scarlet which he has loved since he was a little kid. I would definitely recommend the OLED over the regular one; the graphics are excellent
I upgraded from the regular model to this one because I had it for several years and it wasn't worth repairing. It is very valuable in terms of performance, especially for users who actually use its screen instead of continuous use on the TV.
I got it for family movement games. I'm not interested in classic titles. For now, this console along with the sports game offers this very well.

For the 2024 is not as good a device as it sounds, its main advantage is the motion feature which is not used enough. Games are very expensive (AAA titles prices even years after release) and the graphics are quite outdated. New titles basically play on low settings. Very good for casual tabletop and motion games, maybe even for relaxed gaming and nostalgia for older times but definitely not recommended as a first console, but as a supplementary one.
The reason I bought it is for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the portability, and of course, Nintendo's exclusive games.
And as a second console after the PS5/Xbox, it's just what I needed.
It's the second home console from Nintendo that I've bought, after many years.
The first one was the GameCube (I still have it).
Of course, I also had some portable consoles (Game Boy, Game Boy Color).
For someone who is buying a Nintendo Switch for the first time like me, the OLED is the best choice.
The colors are impressive in handheld mode.
I recommend the bundle with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe because it's worth it compared to buying the Switch OLED without a game.
And the price difference is small.
It also includes a 3-month online subscription.
Also, in handheld mode, I recommend buying the Hori Split Pad Pro Controller because it has better grip and larger buttons than the Joy-Con Controllers.
Just like in TV Mode, the Switch Pro Controller.
The drawbacks are the prices for Nintendo's exclusive games.
And the price of the console could be better because it doesn't have better specs apart from the OLED screen
Excellent and very successful console from Nintendo. Definitely worth it. The OLED has a larger screen than the classic version. However, for those planning to do something like jailbreak on the console, they should know that OLEDs require a chip, and the process is much more difficult.
Call me crazy, but I got it even though I have a beast of a computer and an Xbox. And just for Super Mario Bros Wonder and the OLED screen, it's worth it and then some. Of course, I didn't stop there since I also added Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and to complete the collection, Super Mario Bros U Deluxe and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. I believe that every serious Nintendo player who respects themselves owes it to themselves to have these games in their collection.
The Switch was mainly purchased for the kids to detach them from mobile games. In the end, we all ended up playing. It has games for all ages, and some of them are older well-known titles from PC or PS/Xbox. You can't play the latest games from the major consoles because the Switch's hardware is outdated. But Nintendo's games are all very nice and entertaining, as well as some older titles like Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands 3, Bioshock: The Collection, and No Man's Sky. Apart from the games, the great advantage is that the device is portable, lightweight, with a long-lasting battery, and an OLED screen with amazing colors. It can also be connected to the TV via a dock, and the left/right controllers can be detached from the device to play multiplayer with another person. Overall, its flexibility is great, and you can do almost anything. Please note that it is strongly rumored that a new Switch 2 console will be released in the coming months, which will have upgraded hardware and a wider range of games compared to PC/PS/Xbox.
In the positives:
1. Ease of use. Portable, simple and fast menu, you open the console, insert the cassette and play immediately, wherever you want.

1. Heavy games from other studios play mediocre compared to other consoles.
2. The price is high and the games, no matter how old they get, maintain their initial price compared to other consoles where the price of the game can drop in half within a year.
Amazing console for both kids and adults, with a wide variety of games and the most important thing is the portability of the console. You can play with many of your friends from close range, from the internet anywhere. The OLED screen is incredible. Meanwhile, the joy-cons support motion mode in certain games. Nintendo is very ahead. I highly recommend it.
A decent gaming console. On the positive side, it offers ultimate portability and a reasonable price. On the negative side, its reduced performance compared to other gaming consoles results in even ports of titles from other consoles not functioning properly (recent examples being Harry Potter and Batman). The only way to fully immerse yourself in the world of Pokemon, Mario, Link, and many other Nintendo exclusives.
The short version:
Incredible screen, huge game catalog, plug n play convenience, good battery life, buy it without hesitation if you like Nintendo games, a Bluetooth controller or alternative joycons like the Hori Split Pad may be needed for extended use.
The less short version:
It's 2024. If you don't already have a Switch, you might be thinking it's too late, maybe we should wait for the Switch 2, maybe we should get a more powerful PS5 or a handheld PC with the same money. All of the above are valid considerations, but in reality, if you want to play Nintendo games, then the Switch OLED is the best possible choice. Many handheld PCs like the Steam Deck or ROG Ally can provide satisfactory emulation of the Switch and more, but they lack many of the features that make Nintendo consoles unique (Amiibo, joycon, motion controls, etc.), but most importantly, they lack the ease with which you can dock the Switch and immediately play from your couch, or detach the joycons and hand one to the person next to you for a Mario Kart race. Certainly, the handheld and gaming market has changed dramatically during the lifespan of the Switch (handheld PCs, incredible retro handhelds from China, 9th generation consoles, etc.), but its fantastic screen, combined with satisfactory battery life and an endless catalog of games for every taste, often discounted on the eShop (check out DekuDeals), keep it fresh to this day. Buy the cheapest OLED model you can find and invest the extra money in a good case, an SD card, and a Bluetooth controller, either the Nintendo PRO or something from 8bitdo. With one console, you can play alone or with friends, at home or on the go.
As for games, apart from Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, which are Nintendo exclusives, there are also some of the greatest games from other companies, such as Final Fantasy, Persona, Diablo, Witcher, Skyrim, Fifa, NBA2K, and of course, countless titles from independent developers like Hades, Hollow Knight, Stardew Valley, etc. The options are endless, especially if you buy digitally. Most new titles are missing due to the console's capabilities, but there are always exceptions, like Hogwarts Legacy.
On the negative side, apart from the lower resolution graphics, which for me is the least important aspect of a game, I have to mention the cost of the console itself and Nintendo's games. It will take some searching to find them at relatively good prices. Also, for those with larger hands or those who want to play for longer hours in handheld mode, the joycons may be a bit uncomfortable, especially if you play fighting games, then you will need something with a proper d-pad and perhaps more comfortable. Finally, I have to mention that in order to play online (not free-to-play games), save your saves to the cloud, and use Nintendo's emulators (SNES, N64, etc.), you will need a subscription, which is low and not necessary for most people (20 euros per year), but it is an additional cost.
And finally, if you want an extra opinion, buy the console that you believe you will play more depending on your daily life and needs. "The 'best' can be different for everyone."
We have had it for only 2 weeks, so I can't say much, but it definitely has the capability to play unlimitedly (at home, in the car, everywhere), as well as a variety of games, which is why Nintendo is one of the top companies in its field for me. As for the battery, I can't say anything at the moment because we play with a time limit. We have been very satisfied
So I bought the Zelda edition of the switch 1 and a half months ago. Truly a beautiful machine. The console, controllers, and dock all have designs, while the cords you tie to your hands are gold. The pros are the same as the standard edition of the console (variety of games, etc.). The cons are that the battery drains very quickly, especially if the screen is very bright. I don't know about the controllers, they feel a bit loose and sometimes disconnect in certain games. The extra pair I bought fits better. In terms of its price, I can't say it's worth it. I bought it from abroad 100 euros cheaper than in Greece.
Everything is great, the only downsides are that it only has 1 cassette slot, so you have to constantly insert and remove them, which can be a bit tiring. Oh, and by the way, the Nintendo e-shop is really expensive. What's up with that?

Today, I received my new Game Console in the morning................. (the previous one was the "Nintendo 3DS XL" which I acquired through Ebay, and I don't plan on selling it ever, as I didn't buy it to sell it when I get bored of it)
.................as a fan of the Japanese "Nintendo" since I was a child.
I am amazed.
It feels like I got the successor to the "Sony PSP," on a larger scale & screen.
Of course, it doesn't have a "Factory Protective Membrane" on the screen, which is very necessary... (you never know when it might accidentally fall on the ground).
Although I will soon order a "Protective Membrane."
In any case:
I had to create an account through my Desktop PC, on the "Nintendo" website first, in order to activate the so-called "Nintendo eShop" included in the device, for example, for new game purchases (download to the memory card, if inserted), the whole process took me 5-10 minutes, and finally, everything is fine.
The games, of course, are quite expensive, although I don't like all the game titles, only specific ones (like all those that include Super Mario & Luigi).
I may have bought this version of the game console "Without Games" in the package, but I will soon start buying those specific games that I have already targeted (because I don't like all the games offered by Nintendo for the "Switch OLED").
The device's menu for the initial setup of the game console as its first use is very easy.
I connected the Game Console to my Wi-Fi, performed the "Firmware Update," and that's it.

ATTENTION:
The only drawback I could identify is with the two controllers (Right & Left).
At first, when I first held them in my hands, I thought the Joysticks (not the buttons) were like used. Worn out, so to speak. They are not rigid in their movements, but rather very soft.
To the point where you might think they might easily break at some point in the future, due to their very delicate softness, as if they were placed in water.
But then you realize that they were manufactured that way by the factory. So, there's no need to worry.
Just the two Joystick controllers require good handling to never break.
No crazy-fast movements or disturbances to the device, and overall good behavior towards them.

* In the end, this Game Console is worth its money, although I consider it a bit pricey, but as I said:
It is a device that you acquire to keep it as if you were a child, and until you grow up, it will eventually have great "Collectible Value."
** The only thing I regret today is that as a child, I didn't take care to keep the first Nintendo devices, the Game and Watch, where I had many, black and white ones, but collectible today, and they no longer exist, did I lose them? Were they destroyed? I don't know anymore.
Although I made sure to buy the "Nintendo Game and Watch Super Mario Bros" two years ago, and that made me feel like I got them all back.
The only device I no longer have from Nintendo in my collection is just the "Game Cube."

I have it for a year now, the controllers didn't suit me so I bought different ones (I have big hands). It's worth its money and more. You can play wherever you want, on the toilet, in the car, take it wherever you want. Personally, I spend few hours on the TV since I only have one, so there's no issue of who will use the TV. I have had a Switch for many years. At first, since there were no alternatives, it was worth it. But now I have given up on it. The colors were tiring for my eyes and the graphics were outdated. Terrible games. Only Pokémon is worth it, Zelda didn't appeal to me and Mario Kart was monotonous. This console is for younger ages and it is very expensive. Because I played handheld games, there was an error in the controller and it kept disconnecting, not to mention the Joy-Con drift. I bought something else for almost the same money, more compact without Joy-Con and with much better variety and performance. The only thing I want to say for the year 2023 is that it's not worth it. If it's your first portable console, look at other alternatives. Now, if someone already has it, it doesn't matter if they wait for something else, maybe they will find something
It is the first Nintendo console I buy and it is fantastic!!! It is like an improved PSP. The games are fantastic and the OLED screen makes handheld gaming better. I recommend it!!!!
Well, I have bought both versions of the switch (the regular and the OLED). Personally, I don't believe it's worth someone to spend an extra 80€ for a console with the same specs. The only thing that the OLED version will offer you is a more beautiful and slightly larger image when playing handheld. Also, with the OLED version, you have 64GB of storage instead of 32GB in the old version (with 10€, you can add 140+GB to the regular switch).
In short, the OLED version is not worth the money and I recommend getting the original Switch
I got the OLED after years and I have loved it. I hadn't touched a Nintendo console for about 10 years, since the Wii, and before that... I had the amazing Nintendo DS (about 15 years ago).
It has nothing to do with PS/XBOX, etc., but you don't get it for that. You get it aiming for a completely different range of games. More relaxed, happy, cozy games (of course, there are exceptions).
Having gotten used to the PS4, I feel the switch is quite fragile in my hands, which surprises me when I happen to play for hours without any problems or temperature increases!
I recommend the white color of the OLED since any accessory can match it (case/thumb grip, etc.), and overall, the black and white alone is very impressive!
Very pleasant console.. I decided to buy it to play with my brother.. I had abstained from consoles and gaming (ps2, nintendo ds) for many years and I wanted something that would be user-friendly, high-quality, easy to carry with a nice and diverse range of games.. Our priority is the pokemon games since we are fans from childhood, but I can't wait to play titles like zelda, mario kart, super bros smash, crash etc. I love the pokemon version we got. It could not have been a different version for us! Highly recommend it!

Nostalgia, it is worth it solely for this
Although the console has reached the end of its life, I decided to buy it. It is the second home console of Nintendo that I buy, after many years. The first one was the GameCube in 2003. (Of course, I also had some portable models.) In terms of build quality, it is quite good. The tablet, in particular, is sturdy and compact. The other accessories such as the dock station, controller grip, and joy-cons are of good quality, but they do not match the controllers of Microsoft and Sony. Those who can't stand playing with joy-cons and are generally used to playing with a Ps4 controller or something similar, I recommend buying the 8bitdo pro 2 controller. It feels exactly like the ps4 controller, with the only difference being that it doesn't have a touch surface. You can also connect it to a computer and a mobile device. However, it works great with the Nintendo Switch OLED and can be used as both rechargeable and non-rechargeable, meaning you can remove the rechargeable battery it comes with and replace it with regular non-rechargeable batteries. Generally, a PS4 controller cannot connect to the Nintendo Switch on its own, although I have seen some people on the internet manage to connect it. Of course, those who were successful didn't have the OLED version like I do, but the regular Nintendo Switch. Anyone who insists on connecting a PS4 controller will need to get the 8bitdo wireless adapter, which on one hand connects the controller to the console, but on the other hand, you won't be able to charge the device while playing and you won't be able to prop it up vertically unless you come up with some invention. Connecting a PS4 controller to the Nintendo Switch is convenient when the Switch is connected to the TV. Because then the console charges while you play your games with the mentioned controller. However, I believe that the 8bitdo pro 2 controller will make your life easier. For those who prefer Xbox controllers, you can get the Nintendo Pro Controller, but be aware that it is more expensive than the 8bitdo Pro 2 controller. I hope now those who were hesitant to buy this console due to the relatively uncomfortable controller it comes with are convinced to buy it now. Now, for those who are considering buying a Nintendo or Steam Deck, I will tell you the following: The Steam Deck is larger and has a better processor than the Nintendo Switch. It's like a mobile computer and of course, you can connect your preferred controllers to this console as well. On the other hand, the Nintendo Switch has a processor similar to that of a very good mobile phone and sometimes it may freeze in the game menu because it needs to load certain things like items in the item shop, for example. But during gameplay, you won't encounter any abnormalities except maybe the fact that in some very dynamic games like Fall Guys, the FPS drops on certain tracks, which can drastically affect your gameplay. To avoid this, I recommend having the console connected to power or to the TV, so that the device can charge again. On the other hand, the Nintendo Switch is smaller, lighter, and therefore easier to carry around, which is why I personally prefer it over the Steam Deck. Meanwhile, the Steam Deck does not include accessories such as a stand or connections to screens and TVs in its packaging. You have to buy all of these separately, and they are quite expensive. On the other hand, the Nintendo OLED can stand on its own and includes the necessary accessories in its packaging to connect it to screens and TVs. It is also fully compatible with Epic Games. Games like Fall Guys or Fortnite cannot be played on the Steam Deck unless you first perform a series of complex and time-consuming procedures that will eventually allow you to play Epic Games on the Steam Deck. However, you can play a variety of different games that you cannot play on Nintendo. Specifically, you can play any game you can find on Steam, so this console is great for spending time with.
