Description
Upgrade the RAM of your laptop or mini PC with the Corsair SO-DIMM DDR3, increasing the execution speeds of all your processes.
DDR3 is the third generation of RAM memory technology, offering operating speeds from 800MT/s to 2133MT/s, response time (CAS Latency) from CL4 to CL19, while its capacity has increased up to 16GB per memory unit.
For speed (MT/s) and capacity (GB), the larger the size we choose, the better performance we will have in our system, while for response time (CL), we want the smallest size for the speed (MT/s) we have chosen.
The Corsair SO-DIMM DDR3 offers:
- Speed: 1333
- CAS Latency: 9
- Capacity: 2GB

Reviews
- This review is about modules: 2, capacity: 16 GB
I installed them on a Dell Latitude E6420 14.1-inch Intel Core i5-2520M laptop, which I had read on foreign forums and watched related videos on YouTube that it recognizes them. Dell provides instructions for up to 4GB. Indeed, they were recognized immediately. I must write that my heart skipped a beat during boot-up. It went straight to the BIOS where I saw on the relevant screen that it had recognized them. I simply chose exit and that was it. It continued and since then there have been no problems. Along with a previous upgrade, where I had installed an SSD, my old and beloved laptop (I have a total of 3) will continue to function. As an example, despite the various programs running (including Windows 10 Pro and antivirus), you are on the internet within 28-30 seconds from startup.

I bought them for a Sony Vaio Laptop VPCF13Z1E. Although the manufacturer - and many stores insisted - that this specific laptop supports a maximum of 8 GB of RAM, I tried these specific memory modules and successfully upgraded it to 16GB. Both in the BIOS and in Windows 7, the memory is now 16GB.
Needless to say, the machine now handles everything. I run 3 operating systems (the installed one and 2 virtual Windows 7), dual monitors (extended) with two Chrome browsers (about 30 tabs), Firefox (about >150 tabs), Outlook (with multiple data files - accounts > 60GB), Word with at least 2 files, Notepad, Mendeley & Zotero (bibliography programs), NVivo (a "heavy" data analysis program), and at the same time, according to the diagnostic Task Manager, the memory does not exceed 10GB. Previously, I was constantly at the limit of 8GB and the system wouldn't let me run a virtual PC with all the above open.
As for the speed change - for now - I haven't noticed any difference since in the past I had upgraded the machine with an SSD (in my opinion, the first priority upgrade for increasing the speed of the computer). I will run some complex searches in NVivo - which generally used to slow down my system a lot - and I will let you know.
As for reliability, I haven't had them for a long time, so I can't report anything related.
The price is within reasonable limits. There may be other cheaper options.
I bought them for 77€ from a stock house of a well-known chain (more expensive) than the economical prices I see now on Skroutz, however, it was the only way for me to try them before buying.

Did you find this review helpful? Very good product for its price. This product is designed for low performance. I would not recommend it for someone who performs many tasks simultaneously on their computer.
