The history of the patriarchal orders of excellence of the ancient Orthodox Patriarchates of the East is a particularly interesting chapter in the overall ecclesiastical history and the study of the life and work of Orthodoxy, in its eternal cradles.

In this context, we have systematically dealt with the history of the Order of the Orthodox Crusaders of the Holy Sepulchre, of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, one of the most official and well-known Orthodox ecclesiastical insignia. The fact that despite the decoration of many important personalities with this distinction, very little was known about its history and formation, made it even more necessary to write it in a volume.
