Argyris P. P. Petronotis is one of the most tireless Teachers I have had in my life, with a constant thirst for transmitting knowledge to his students. He made us love the history of Architecture of all historical periods, from the first exciting lessons about the Ziggurats of Mesopotamia and the Pyramids of Egypt to the folk traditional architecture of often anonymous craftsmen, whose examples we are trying to keep alive today.

His writing and research work on our traditional architecture in general, as well as bridges and craftsmen, is rich and characterized by his scientific and technical language along with his unwavering passion.

The material in this book emerged from his years of research on stone bridges, having crossed all of Greece, recording, photographing, capturing, and investigating always in combination with his appetite for transmitting this knowledge.
