It is exactly what you need if you want to have a portable option for a dock. The ports are satisfactory. I think 3 USB 3.0 ports are enough. Personally, I chose this one instead of others because it had memory card slots (both regular SD and microSD).

I have been using it for 5 months with a 2020 Macbook Air (with M1) and it works without any problems.

Personally, I bought it temporarily because I wanted to upgrade to one that has Ethernet and HDMI later on, to connect an additional monitor since my laptop is my main workstation.

I did the upgrade, ordered it, and I'm waiting for it to arrive. However, it cannot be compared to this one because it is a much larger docking station and also much more expensive (around €80).

Nevertheless, I will keep this one as well for when I happen to work outside or on the go, because the other one I bought is an 11-in-1 and it requires a desk.

So I will always carry this one with me, in the case of my external hard drive that I have, and I will use it as a portable version.

One downside is that it gets quite hot, but the truth is that this cannot be avoided. Especially when the type-C cable is connected and it essentially functions as a brick charger.

Another downside is that it occupies both type-C ports while it only has one on it, so it essentially lacks one type-C port, but personally, it didn't affect me.

In summary, it is a very good choice because it is sturdy and I don't think it will disappoint. As for the price, compared to other products in the same category, I believe it is worth it.
