Panasonic, to improve the air quality in the space, has equipped its air conditioners with the innovative air filtering system, nanoe X.

The nanoe X function limits the growth of specific allergens, bacteria, and viruses in the space thanks to its content of ten times* the amount of active OH.

This new advanced form of nanoe X produces ten (10) times more active OH (4800 billion) compared to the previous generation of nanoe.

The large number of active OH have excellent results against bacteria, viruses, and allergens.

Refrigerant R32

It uses the eco-friendly refrigerant R32, which is environmentally friendly and has 68% lower global warming potential compared to R410A. Additionally, R32 can deliver the same thermal power as R410A with 30% less refrigerant, meaning less refrigerant is required per unit. As a result, total carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by approximately 75%. Another advantage is that R32 is not a mixture but a homogeneous fluid and can be more easily recycled and reused.

Energy Efficiency

The air conditioner belongs to energy class A+++ for cooling and energy class A+++ for heating (medium zone). The energy class is measured on a seven-level color scale from A+++ to D, with class A+++ being the most efficient, while class D is the least efficient.

Additionally, there are the SEER and SCOP indicators, which more realistically depict the actual energy efficiency of air conditioners.

  • SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is representative of the entire cooling season. It is defined as the ratio of the annual required cooling to the annual electricity consumption (the annual cooling consumption is based on 350 hours of operation). Indicatively, for an air conditioner of class A and above, the SEER indicator is from 5.10w/w units and above.
  • SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) is representative of the entire heating season. It is defined as the ratio of the annual required heating to the annual electricity consumption (the annual heating consumption is based on 1400 hours of operation). Indicatively, for an air conditioner of class A and above, the SCOP indicator is from 3.40w/w units and above.

    This review is about the cooling power: 18000 BTU

    The review concerns the 18000 btu model that was purchased in 7/2023 using a recycling voucher, which is generally sold by only 2 stores, so searching and patience is required for anyone interested. After thorough research for hours on end, I ended up replacing my 12-year-old Panasonic with this Panasonic for a 55 sqm house with poor insulation. Certainly, my previous A/C and my experience with it played a role in my choice, but only to a certain extent. The previous one was a very good machine that was replaced solely because it was 12000 btu and had to cool/heat the entire house. The new one has a very quiet external unit and a moderately loud internal unit that doesn't bother much, especially in "quiet" mode, but it definitely sounds slightly louder than the old one, which is logical since it is more powerful. Its cooling is excellent and I constantly operate it on "quiet" mode at 27-28 C when I am alone at home. On 26/7/2023 with a maximum external temperature of 43C and with the aforementioned settings, and as it worked continuously for 24 hours, the application showed the maximum estimated daily consumption so far as 7kwh. The Android application is good with room for improvement in terms of smooth operation, as it has almost everything in terms of settings, with no plastic noise or creaking, a very nice and user-friendly remote control that, however, went straight into the drawer since I only operate it through the application. It does not have an ionization function, but it does have the Nanoe X function (patented) by Panasonic, which neutralizes all viruses and bacteria in the air. It is not a cheap A/C for those who want something more than the usual, but it is worth paying the corresponding amount. For now, I am completely satisfied.

    We have it (9000 BTU) here for a week. Amazing. I can't find any serious negatives. Aesthetically beautiful, in Quiet mode you don't realize it's in the room, it has functions beyond the classic 2, very useful at least in theory... (one for cleaner air and one for more humidity in the room!) and the remote control is very good. The app gave me trouble connecting to the air conditioner (you need to watch the relevant YouTube video from the company for installation). Otherwise, it's just good. It does the basics. Unfortunately, in terms of user experience, these companies are far behind compared to the big IT companies in these aspects (and I wonder why they don't give the apps to others to fix them).

    I also had an old Panasonic. I used it for 10 years. It didn't have the slightest problem, that's why I trusted it again.
