Very bad the case.
It tore in Piraeus, before we even started the trip, without even having opened it.
The shade is very good, you don't feel like you're burning when you're in its shadow.
With good anchoring with enough stones, in the wind in the Cyclades, it didn't suffer anything.
If you don't have experience in setting it up, you will get frustrated.
Definitely needs 2 people for setup and takedown, especially with wind.
The shade is very good regardless of the time. As for its range, it is moderate. There are always areas that won't allow you to spread out due to the limited shade.
If you put all the pegs, you won't have an issue with the wind. You will need a mallet (small hammer) or a stone.
Very poor packaging of the installation bag.
Due to the front and back opening, you won't feel suffocated.
The poles seem fragile but nothing negative has happened.
The setup instructions on the bag are not satisfactory.
It needs to be rinsed with water after each use.
If you plan to take 10 baths and are looking for a cheap option, it's worth it. If you want more, spend 100€+ and get one with automatic opening and closing and with windows.
UPDATE (7/2024):
The tent's case is the worst, so this year I bought a case that I found in the tent's dimensions, sized 65cm*18cm.
Good tent for two people comfortably!! The setup takes about 5 minutes with basic thinking... In strong wind, if you have the pegs, it won't go anywhere... It will only give you a hard time during setup... The quality of the materials will be shown by the seams over time and the saltiness they will endure... If you take care of it and wash it with clean water, you and your company will enjoy it for a long time
Pros: Good value for money. Provides good shade from the sun and actually protects from harmful radiation. It is very spacious and can accommodate a chair. When closed, it is quite compact and easy to transport (this was the main reason we chose it).
Cons:
- Difficulty in setting up and taking down, especially if there is a lot of wind (it took us almost half an hour to close it with 2 people) - extra hands are necessary for setting up if you are not familiar with tents with poles.
- It does not stand on its own very well in moderate to strong winds. However, if you use (many) rocks and sandbags, you won't have any problems.
- The rear opening is larger than expected and I'm not exactly sure of its purpose. I prefer windows for the following reasons: 1) the floor of the tent at the opening does not secure well, causing it to constantly lift with the wind. 2) The tent is exposed on both sides to the sun, as well as debris and sand when there is wind, and 3) little to no privacy (I will add here that if you want to move away from the tent, it is particularly useful to be able to close both the windows and the entrances).
- As for the construction, do not expect something very sturdy. Unfortunately, the wooden poles started to break from the third use. I would also like the rear opening to have at least a mesh, and there should be built-in bags for sand/rocks. Finally, there are no internal pockets.
The tent - canopy is excellent. It comfortably fits 3 children or 2 adults, while for a couple with 1 child it is more than sufficient. For those with experience with Igloo-type tents, it can be set up and taken down in 5 minutes. The fabric has SPF 50+ sun protection and you don't get burned when you're underneath it. It also rotates easily depending on the position of the sun. Putting things inside doesn't require any stakes or anything.
