The development of a child and the family environment in which they grow up plays a significant role in their later life and personality. It influences how they manage their emotions, how they will later create a family, become a partner, and a parent.
How can we protect our children from developing problematic behaviors? What foundations did our parents give us so that we, in turn, can become "conveyors" of a proper psychosexual development for our children?
In this book, Matthaios Yiosafat introduces the psychosexual development of a child from the moment of conception until the sixth year of their life.
He analyzes the phases a child goes through, their relationship with their mother and father, as well as the couple's relationship, the problems parents face while raising a child, and how behaviors are directly connected to their own childhood.
The well-known psychiatrist defines the roles of parents during the child's development and how their relationship affects the child's psychological and sexual development.
This book is a compilation of four lectures organized at "Armos," with the same title, in which the author, apart from analyzing the topics, also answers parents' daily concerns, engages with the audience, and addresses "hot" topics of today's era.

Extremely easy to read. While reading it, I revisited the early years of my sons and how we managed them. It is highly recommended, especially for new parents and spouses. It may provide you with the answers you can't find for many "why am I experiencing this?" questions. From pregnancy to the first 4-5 years of the child's life. I wish I had read it earlier.
Being pregnant, I read the book. The book is very easy and understandable, I really absorbed it. I found the first 3 chapters very interesting with very important information, while the 4th chapter was a bit boring for me personally. So, in conclusion, yes, it is a book that I would recommend for everyone to read, not only for parents, BUT also for women who have, expect, or are thinking of having children, as it can acquire a lot of psychological and fear of responsibility by reading it. Almost the whole book mentioned that any psychological issue that appears in the child is solely the mother's fault and responsibility. So let's gather the knowledge, but let's not forget that Mr. Giwosafat is a child psychiatrist of a certain age and many things have changed since then.
I read the book during my pregnancy, while I was waiting for my first child. At that time, having complete ignorance about what life with a baby is like, the book seemed very useful and very clear in what Mr. Yiassafat was saying. Then I gave birth, and even now when I think about what he said about what my mom should do, it seems funny, not to mention infuriating. If I were a little more vulnerable during my postpartum period, I might have died of depression from the guilt of not being able to do everything the author considered necessary. In theory, it's very nice for the mom to be involved with the baby 24/7 and for the dad not to even change a diaper, but in practice, all of this is impossible.
Necessary book for every new parent written in simple and understandable language by a scientist with deep knowledge of the subject. The gift I give to every friendly or relative couple who brings their first child into the world. It's worth dedicating two afternoons of your time (you don't need more to read it in its entirety) to read it.
