My previous hp printer, despite being used only occasionally, left me stranded in the middle of a print job due to its unreliability. I needed a new all-in-one printer for documents, not photos, relatively quickly. Even the cheapest printers can print at an acceptable level, so I didn't need anything fancy.
After trying out 3-4 cheaper all-in-one printers from different manufacturers, none of which left a good impression, I decided to take a risk and buy a more expensive one, even though there were no reviews available.
The main reason was that I wanted to get rid of the annoying paper feeder on top of the cheaper printers, which takes up a lot of space, is fragile, collects dust, and often fails to feed paper properly. Additionally, I didn't like the aesthetics of these printers, and the reviews for the available options were not encouraging.
In practice, the most important positive feature of my new printer, besides the easy-to-use bottom paper tray, was its immediate wifi connection. It was the first all-in-one printer I've owned that didn't give me trouble connecting, especially with the hp smart app. The printer connects quickly every time I turn it on.
The printer is heavy and sturdy, but with the right dimensions that don't make it bulky. It has different lighting depending on the task and an audible notification. It doesn't have a screen, only bright touch buttons and a small dot matrix display that shows the number of pages.
It takes two 305 ink cartridges. I don't have an opinion on ink consumption yet, but I believe all printers in this category are roughly equally ink-hungry, so they are suitable for occasional home use, otherwise, you should consider other options.
It's relatively fast in printing and scanning and noticeably less noisy than the cheaper hp printers I've had before, which caused a small earthquake in my office when starting to print. I haven't printed double-sided yet, although it has this feature.
The cost is 20-30 euros more than a basic printer that does the job, but personally, I think it's worth it for the trouble-free, quiet operation and the beauty of it.
**Update: The double-sided printing function is simply wonderful and easy. I printed from Libre Office Writer very quickly. The process should be the same in all applications: Print > Properties > Print on both sides > Flip on long side. Overall, I think this printer is a 5-star choice for my needs and for the average user.
**Update: I filled the black cartridge with an old compatible hp aftermarket ink, and it prints smoothly.
2 weeks. My relatives are still looking for me and don't know where I am. I have been locked in my room for 2 weeks, constantly clicking on the computer screen trying to avoid the endless registrations, subscriptions, and HP account creations that HP keeps throwing at me on the screen while I press "skip" and "I do not wish". I managed to survive without food because I got some bread. Seriously, HP, I bought a printer. I just want to press print and be done with it. I don't want subscriptions and nonsense or accounts on your platforms. P.S. a month ago, HP blocked its printers that didn't have HP ink but some cheap alternative. If this is true, it's another huge fail as a company. I hope it doesn't apply to this model as well. As a printer, as a machine, it seems okay.
Edit: It was sold, I bought a Canon with ink jet and found my peace.
My wife bought it to print photos, and it prints them very well. Overall, good construction. The installation was easy. It also becomes even more awesome if you sign up for the instant ink service. HP gives extra months of FREE ink if you use the code jc1nbq when activating the Instant Ink service!!!! Also, as soon as you sign up for the instant ink service, HP will send you a FREE set of ink cartridges that have more ink capacity than even the XXL cartridges sold in stores. You can cancel the service whenever you want. Personally, I believe that if someone uses a lot of ink, it makes sense to have the service. It will pay for itself.
Satisfactory printing.
A major drawback is that scanning is done through the HP app, which often freezes, resulting in the need for uninstallation and reinstallation. I also think that the ink runs out very quickly.
The worst thing ever. If you want to smash the printer with your fists out of frustration, this is exactly what you are looking for. Connectivity issues, it constantly loses the wifi, while all other devices are perfectly connected, it needs to be reset all the time to print, and when you finally decide to connect it wired out of exasperation, it's the same story. Ready to throw off the balcony.
Tragic. It doesn't connect to WiFi half the time. You waste a lot of time, it stops printing in the middle of the page. The result is that you waste a lot of paper and a lot of ink.
Just don't buy any HP... problems with connectivity, and the inks dry out quickly, I never finish an ink cartridge, it always dries up, I can't print and I throw them away. Better a cheap laser printer than this junk.
Enter the code k8qbnh to get an extra month for me and an extra month for you, plus the 6 months that you get anyway, after that you pay a subscription based on how many pages you want to print each month.
DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF BUYING IT. Perhaps the worst purchase I have made in my life. It disconnects all the time. I have had it for over a year. I have tried everything you can think of to get it to print. But it’s just a matter of luck. One day it might start printing and the computer recognizes it, the next day it does nothing. You turn it on and off, restart the computer, reinstall it. With a lot of effort, after about 1-2 hours depending on each person's knowledge, you might print half of what you want. STAY AWAY!! If someone is doing it for savings, it’s better to go print at a local copy shop. Of course, the inks are only genuine and they are expensive.
Damn the moment I bought it, 30 hours to connect the printer to the computer and then it disconnects by itself, that's where the first problem ends, second problem it takes a long time to start up, third it jams during printing struggling to print 5 times... what can I say, everything is now junk, only the brands remain.
After 3 years, I give 2 stars due to Wi-Fi disconnections and the USB is only feasible during the initial setup. Positively, the Instant Ink, but depending on everyone's budget and the technical support which, however, is available between 9:00-18:00.
THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER BOUGHT! I've had it for over a year and I was so patient because it's just the second printer. ...I remember from the first day I wanted to throw it away as I spent about 10 hours trying to connect it wirelessly. . Expensive to use.... so it doesn't disconnect and is functional. For the past three days it has jammed again.... and it doesn't even have a screen to describe the type of malfunction. Today it eats paper....Waste of money for the purchase... waste of money for the extremely expensive inks... waste of time I lost for its sake
The printer constantly has connectivity issues even though the network in the area is very strong. After a year of use and with the Instant Ink service, the printer kept showing ERRORS, and since it was still under warranty, when I took it back to the store where I bought it, they replaced it with a new machine.
For home use and its price, it's a good machine. In the scanning function for IDs, it hardly shows anything. Other than that, if you don't want it to print large quantities, it's perfect.
Very good for its price, it is perfect for home use. With the code mmdd3n you get an extra month of free ink with hp instant ink service.
It works quite well, but not always. Very often it appears offline and needs a couple of restarts (sometimes even the computer) to recover. As for the scanner, it never works with programs other than HP. Watch the video to see what happens when I try to scan with another program, even the simple one from Windows.
The pros are that it doesn't need a cable because it connects with WiFi and it can print on both sides of the paper.
I use it lightly: maybe 1 to 2 times a month to scan something, and the same amount of times I print 10 to 30 pages at a time.
Highly inappropriate, the set up is the worst, printing is very slow both in color and black, and every time I want to print something I have to do a ritual. The consumption is relatively fast. Unacceptable.
The worst thing on the market... STAY AWAY... And for 2 inks a monthly one... it doesn't even read compatible inks... Go for another printer brand... HP is finished
Free money far away does not connect with anything it has exploded me. You press print today and it prints the next day unfortunately.
HP is giving away extra months of FREE ink if you use the code mpywgk when activating the Instant Ink service!!! So far, I still have 6 years of free ink!! I have owned this particular model for almost 1.5 years. For home use and considering its affordable price, it is worth buying.
Unfortunately, the worst printer I have ever bought. I have had it for 1.5 years. It does not have ethernet and connects only via wifi. It takes a very long time to connect, and many times it doesn't connect at all. I constantly restart and try to connect it. To make a print, I try for 10 minutes, and once it connects, it prints normally and the prints are quite good. The next day, it's the same struggle again. Sometimes it doesn't print because it says the ink is finished. The next day, after it connects, it shows that it has ink. Generally, I am fed up; I will not buy HP again.
2/12/24.
I am coming back to help others who have connection problems. I contacted HP customer service by phone, and the problem is that it needs to connect to the router with 2.4 GHz. New routers emit on 5G. The employee connected to my computer and made the settings on the router for the connection. For the past 5 months, I have had no problems, and it works very well.
Good construction but compared to an older one I had, it printed much better than the one I have now. Another thing that makes it difficult for me to use is the color and black-and-white printing, as there is no button on the printer that you can press to make it simpler and easier for you. In this case, you will need to install the printer's application on your mobile or computer in order to set it up.
HP is giving away extra months of FREE ink if you use the code mpywgk when activating the Instant Ink service!
Persistent and serious connectivity issues, high printing costs through the subscription.
I do not recommend it to anyone.
As for print quality, it is very good. It prints color pages, black and white, scans, etc. And double-sided printing. The HUGE issue is that it has connectivity problems. Meaning, it takes an hour to connect to WIFI, you send a print and it may start after 5 minutes or not at all. In the second case, you restart and send the file again, and it has happened to print it twice because of the previous failed attempt. I constantly set up the WIFI connection because it doesn't connect. The same thing happens with scanning. Overall, it requires a lot of patience. But when it decides to print, the print quality is very good.
First time I buy a printer and I couldn't print even a single page. I ask my son to set it up, he does it after an hour and I think, great, now we're okay. When I need it... guess what?... it doesn't work again!!! It needs to be set up again!!! I have to find my son again, hoping he's not busy, listen to his necessary complaints and go out for photocopies. I regret the moment I went and bought it.
He set it up three thousand times and lost his patience just as many times.
At least I went through the comments and found comfort seeing that many like me hated it and want to throw it away.
I think we should create a group for hp sufferers.
Stay away from me
they should give this as a gift with psychiatric coverage.
Again, stay away
One connects to WiFi, one does not...
I bought it from a well-known big chain and it had a warranty, they replaced it because the WiFi wasn't working and after a while, the same thing happened again... Don't buy it because you will cry for your money...
It has problems all the time - the hp smart keeps going offline, sometimes it works from mobile phones and sometimes it doesn't, avoid it
A wonderful printer for this money!
It is very nice if you want to put it on your desk to fill the space!
You buy it, download the amazing application to handle the printer, and from there on, you say a prayer if it catches and works,?
I mean, you make a photocopy of a document from your mobile phone and after 10 seconds, the printer may tell you it's not ready, you close it, open it again to unstick it.
There are bad purchases, my child, but this is another level
Unreliable like all HP printers with a cable, it never prints and constantly gives errors. With the app, you have more chances to print, although it constantly loses its settings, it either doesn't print or doesn't display the printer even though it exists in the app, and in the end, you can't print when you want to.
If you manage to print, it has good quality (the ink cartridges are half the price of other printers because they only do half the prints)
Unacceptable!
H.P. is also unacceptable!
Difficult installation and demands crazy money for ink that evaporates! It went in the trash.
If you want to have disconnections every time it opens, then get it! The worst thing I have seen in a long time... and what ruined them at hp is the light they have put in the front part. They don't bother to improve their printers a little!
