I would not recommend these specific bulbs for straight line installation on a railing or fence as they are sparsely placed and do not emit a strong light intensity. However, they can be placed tightly wrapped around the railing to create a beautiful effect (they look like little stars). On sunny days, the battery has a long duration, which increases if they are operated according to the recommended program in the user manual. Special attention is required during unwrapping as the lights are placed on a very thin copper wire that tangles very easily.
TIP: Before installation, you can wrap them around an object (e.g. a kitchen paper roll) and then carefully unwrap them to place them without tangling.

The first day I tried to put them on, I wasted 1 hour, me and my wife.

Also, given the struggle I had to untangle them, I have to say that they are durable, they won't break easily when bent (I spent two hours untangling them, believe me... it requires donkey-like patience)
So before you start unwinding them, it's good to pass them, for example, through an empty toilet paper roll and then start unwinding.
