  The purpose I bought it for is to be able to put it in a bag with water inside without spilling and at work to plug it into an outlet (without drawing too much power and tripping any relays) to boil water for noodles or coffee tea, etc. It does all these things and I am satisfied. If someone wants it as a thermos, it doesn't keep the hot for even an hour if it's not plugged in.
