In January 2006, on the sixty-first anniversary of the liberation from the Auschwitz death camp, where one and a half million people died, nations from around the world observed the first International Holocaust Remembrance Day. A few months later, they could well have celebrated the anniversary of one of the most indestructible texts about that horrific time. Viktor Frankl's "Man's Search for Meaning," where the author describes his experiences in the extermination camps and analyzes his psychotherapeutic method of logotherapy, was first published in 1946.
In September 1942, Frankl and his family were arrested and deported. Frankl spent the next three years in four different concentration camps, stripped of everything that connected him to life, until the day of his liberation. It is, however, astonishing how he clung to life, and to the affirmation of life, and the reasons for which he tried, both desperately and rationally, to stay alive are astonishingly simple. Love and knowledge constitute the meaning of life for Frankl, and this personal meaning becomes the powerful engine that keeps him alive. And the search for this Meaning is, ultimately, the driving force of everything.
A landmark book for humanity. A hymn to mankind.

One of the nicest books I have read, and I say that as a very selective person. It inspires you, fills your mental void, and opens your eyes to many topics. Some words you understand if you know ancient Greek and can analyze them in their compounds, but in general, the text flows very beautifully.
An essential self-improvement book written by a psychiatrist neurologist who created the original logotherapy.
Unfortunately, someone must have stolen my book, so I don't have any pictures to show, but I will probably buy it again. Such a masterpiece should not be missed.
I would not like to go against the reviews that praise it, but having read many books, it didn't seem so amazing to me. Well-written and touching in some parts, but for me, it's a bit commercial and overrated. If you like this kind of books, a good suggestion is "Your Erroneous Zones" by Wayne Dyer.
A very nice book that helps us better understand the roots of Frankl's existential psychotherapy school ("logotherapy"). The part that concerns his experiences in concentration camps is mainly used as a reference framework to develop the basic principles of logotherapy, so it is more of a psychology book than a historical document about the Holocaust. However, it can be read by anyone (whether or not they have knowledge of psychology) and can simply and beautifully teach lessons about life and its meaning.
This is an amazing book with a very powerful and moving content. It is truly a unique acquisition!
What can one say about one of the most important books ever written - a must-read for everyone.
