The installation is inset, meaning it is recessed into the countertop and its rim protrudes. It is the easiest and most widespread installation method for kitchen sinks. Essentially, the weight of the sink is supported by the countertop itself, with some support points at the bottom for stabilization purposes. Sealing is achieved with insulating material, such as silicone, placed around the perimeter of the hole, under the rim.
