It is nice and large, fitting quite a bit of grilled food, it cooks evenly. Its drawback is that it has a high temperature intensity, resulting in the grilled food cooking quickly on the outside while remaining raw inside. If we lower the intensity, the heating elements quickly turn off, the temperature drops, and our grilled food becomes like boiled.
One of the most efficient grills of this type (electric grill) that I have tried. I believe that with the power it has, the user can achieve the desired level and method of grilling with great accuracy. It definitely requires attention at the maximum setting, as grilling can easily get out of control. Relatively easy to clean, specifically the reflector-drip tray requires some effort to clean, especially in the upward folds towards the side of the grill, as this is where the reflectors are exposed to water, causing grease to stick. The negative aspects are the weak lighting around the rotary switch for adjustment, as well as the absence of any marking on the switch indicating the power range between min-max and the resistance setting. At least I haven't seen it, so if anyone knows, I would appreciate being corrected. In conclusion, I believe it is worth purchasing and I would highly recommend it without considering its disadvantages as significant enough to deter someone from buying it. Happy grilling!
Excellent grill. Heats up quickly in 10 minutes. The resistors seem very high quality, time will tell. Cleaning is very easy with hot water and dish soap. Now, onto grilling: Very strong heat at 2,500 watts on the highest setting, be careful not to burn the products you're grilling. Sometimes, in certain areas, it even catches fire due to the fat from the meat (but that's the difference with griddles), it comes very close to the taste of charcoal grilling. The grilling surface is satisfactory, of course, it's not the largest. The negatives I can find are that the red color on the temperature controller is not visible at all, nor is the level. Also, the grill has 4 protrusions upwards on each corner, which can be a bit troublesome while grilling. German company, German standards, although I would have preferred French products, but I chose this one from Tefal (half-heartedly) :p. For the money you pay, you get corresponding quality.
It is worth its money and more. It is very powerful. No comparison to a previous model of 2200 watts that I had. The difference may seem small as a number, but it makes a difference. For the first time, I had such juicy and tasty steaks on an electric grill. But everything else I grilled (pancetta, burgers, chicken, fish) all turned out perfectly.
The taste and aroma remind me of charcoal for two reasons. One is that it is very powerful, so I never cook the meat at high intensity because it will burn. Maybe only the fish, so they don't dry out. The other reason is the reflector tray, which I didn't initially like because it is harder to clean than the regular one. However, because it doesn't get fully covered in water due to its shape, the fats fall on it and burn, releasing smoke that reminds me of charcoal and gets absorbed by the meat.
Of course, this means that it is best to use it on the terrace to avoid the smell in the house.
The only negative thing I found was the grill, which has a vertical wire that prevents easy cleaning from burnt fats. It didn't clean in the dishwasher, just like the reflector tray. So, I thought about replacing it with the grill from my kitchen, which didn't have this wire and was definitely better.
However, in the end, I also replaced it with a small cast iron one that I bought for 9 euros. It is not too heavy. Because it initially stuck a little, mainly with the burgers, I seasoned it. I did 4 cycles with linseed oil (which I found in the organic products section in the fridge), and now it is perfect.
When I finish, I let it cool down and then I put it in hot water for 5-10 minutes to soften the residues. I clean it with a plastic brush or a sponge with plain water, without detergent.
I dry it and put it back on the fire for a while to remove any trace of moisture. Ready.
