Description

Nail files are essential for every nail stylist. There are many types available in the market, made from different materials and shapes. The grit (or grade) of the file is important. The numbers on files 80, 100, 180, 240 refer to the number of grits per 1 cm2 of the file. The lower the number, the coarser the grit.

Based on the grit classification, files are distinguished as follows:

  • Coarse - 80 grit: Used for removing edges and other elements from the nail plate. Mainly used by more experienced nail stylists, as they can be relatively easy to damage.
  • Medium grit - 100 grit: These are the most commonly chosen classic nail files. They are used for shaping natural nails, sculpting extended nails, as well as for applying gel.
  • Fine - 180/240 grit: They have many applications and are very versatile. Ideal for edge shaping, for filling nails with acrylic or gel, as well as for shortening and smoothing natural nails.
  • Buffers - grit above 300: We distinguish the polishing levels, giving shine and luster to natural nails. They are used to finish a manicure and make it more beautiful.

When using nail files of various grits, it is worth remembering that you should use coarse grit first and fine grit last. Only this sequence is correct.
