The review concerns the 65” QE65Q60AA which was purchased for €575 as a gift for my parents (through a promotion from a well-known chain in combination with a cashback offer from a Greek bank) with the aim of upgrading from a 20+ year old CRT SABA. It has been 5 months since I have had it in my hands and I am writing this specific review.

I should mention that the television is mainly used for viewing satellite channels but also for IPTV subscription channels (and secondarily for DIGEA channels). We do not use applications like Netflix or Cosmote TV.

Build quality: As many others have mentioned above, it is very poor and the TV requires special care during transport and cleaning. In fact, my television arrived with a line of burnt pixels near the frame (see related photo) which I believe occurred during its transport; however, it is something you only notice if you sit 30cm close to the TV, so it doesn't bother me and it doesn't seem that the nearby pixels have burned after 5 months of usage that I have had it.

Picture: It is truly wonderful in both color and contrast! In fact, there is a Samsung technology (which you can turn off if it bothers you) called Motion Xcelerator that improves motion and frame smoothness, giving more realism to the picture. As for the blacks, it is not OLED and as shown in a photo, especially in the upper corners, backlight bleeding is visible, which however does not bother unless there are black bars above and below due to resolution and aspect ratio differences (only at night, of course, during the day you don't notice it). Additionally, if the TV faces a window, you will need curtains (see related photo). I consider the viewing angles to be good; however, I wouldn't sit more than 50 degrees from the center as it is a VA panel. It does not support HDMI 2.1, VRR, and is not 120Hz, so I do not recommend it for hardcore gamers. It also does not support Dolby Vision. Finally, HDR10+ is supported normally.

Sound: It is normal for a TV of its category. Of course, if you are demanding, you should get a soundbar. Personally, I connect the TV via Bluetooth to the Hi-Fi I have when I have guests at home. Many times Bluetooth has latency (delay-lag) in connectivity, and thus there is a problem with audio-video synchronization, a problem that this particular TV does not seem to have (I have tested it, as I mentioned, with Bluetooth connection to Hi-Fi but also with headphones and a portable speaker without noticeable delay). On the downside, it does not have a 3.5mm jack and does not support DTS and DTS:X audio.

Connectivity: I have connected it with everything you can imagine and it has not disappointed. I have tried portable HDDs, SSDs, USB sticks, and even a wireless USB remote/keyboard (see related photo) that I bought to facilitate navigation (tip for those thinking of using a wireless keyboard: the buttons on the remote translate to the Function Keys and the ESC of the keyboard, while if we press ctrl+alt+del it restarts the TV; however, I have not yet found how I can turn it on/off from the keyboard, while the media keys Play, Pause, Volume Up/Down at least do not work for me, but there is the relevant capability using the Function keys). I also haven't been able to change the language of the wireless keyboard to Greek from English.

Apps: Unfortunately, it is not an Android TV, so forget about KODI; however, its software (Tizen) has a plethora of applications, to mention a few - Video: Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Rakuten TV, ERTFlix, Cosmote TV. Audio: Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, TIDAL. Radio: Mytuner radio (it also has many Greek stations). For telecommunications, I only found Google Duo. For IPTV, there are many applications, the most well-known being OttPlayer, which works perfectly where you set up the channels from your desktop PC without requiring further actions on the TV (beyond connecting to your account, of course).

User-friendliness: It doesn't seem familiar to the average user. The remote control, although modern, charges with sunlight as well as with a type-c cable, has very few buttons, and some of them are completely useless (e.g., what do I do with the buttons for Netflix, Prime Video, and Rakuten?). They put the numbers and the 4 colored buttons into just one button on the remote, making navigation incredibly difficult! Additionally, switching between satellite and antenna channels is relatively difficult; you have to press and hold the guide button (CH) and then switch in the top right of the menu (instead of putting it on one button on the remote, they've made it a whole science). Sorting the channels is quite time-consuming, especially when dealing with 1000+ satellite channels (they also force you to create a favorites list because you can't sort in the initial lists). The TV restricts you in terms of the languages it supports and the languages you can type (fortunately, it has English and Greek, but personally, I would like it to have additional languages, e.g., Russian, which it does have on YouTube).

Functionality: I haven't found it to lag anywhere, and it doesn't take long to start up. Keep in mind that to stream 4K, you need a 50 Mbps line (and hope to get at least 25 Mbps).
Value for money: For what it offers and its size, as well as the €575 I paid, I believe it is worth it. Of course, we will see how long it lasts over time.

So came the television. The company says it's called clouding phenomenon and it's "normal" in LED televisions and they don't recognize it as a defect. (according to their opinion, as I haven't seen it in any other television until now and usually they accepted defective products in other brands at least and replaced them..). So they don't do a replacement...
Unacceptable simply.
You buy a well-known brand for quality assurance, better support, etc. and this happens to you.
Disgrace! This overshadows all the good things about the television.
Also, if you at Samsung consider "clouding" normal, inform the customer before they purchase your products that there is a high chance of this happening to them and you won't cover it.
Definitely not buying anything Samsung again after this experience.

I want to congratulate Samsung because it is the first company with televisions that have an expiration date of 2 years and 1-2 months. Exactly at the end of the warranty. So, the panel on the television burned out exactly 2 months after the warranty expired. Of course, the cost for repair is prohibitive. After searching through the comments, I saw that this is a common phenomenon in several Samsung models. If only I had known this beforehand. So, in my new search for a television, I will start by excluding this particular company.

This review is about the diagonal: 50 "

This specific television (Samsung Smart TV 50" 4K UHD QLED QE50Q60A HDR (2021)) after 2 years of very conservative use has developed several issues. Firstly, it already has 3 horizontal lines burned that become very noticeable on light-colored images and the initial assessments are that repair is not worth it. Then it has a power supply problem and can no longer turn on (it blinks for 10 minutes) and we are waiting for service. With this knowledge, I would not recommend the purchase.

After about a year and a half, the LED lights started burning out and I struggled for about a month to fix it, etc. In short, I bought a new one, even though it seems to have all the features to be a value for money TV, it is terribly mediocre and not worth it. It is a two-hundred-euro TV

In February '22, we bought this specific Samsung model and in a year and a half, it became a notebook due to the many lines it displayed. Fortunately, it was still under warranty and we gave it for panel replacement. But no one assures us that even after the replacement, it won't show the same damage. Money wasted!!

I also want to share my extremely negative experience with this specific model. It was purchased on August 21st and the screen burned out on November 23rd, three months after the warranty expired. I informed the technical department and requested coverage for at least part of the expenses. They said they would ask the supervisor and inform me. Ten days passed, no update, so I called them again. They falsely claimed that they had repeatedly called me but couldn't reach me, only to inform me that they couldn't cover any part of the cost. Of course, after this, I will not buy anything from them again, and I advise you to do the same.

FAR AWAY .............. I bought it in February 2021, and in 2.5 years it burned the panel, with a replacement cost of 402 euros + labor. I will never buy a Samsung product again, as an expensive printer from the same company burned out the scanning lamp for me. The warranty ended and then the damage occurred, completely disappointed!

I bought the 50-inch one in March 2021. However, after two months, a wide horizontal white line appeared in the middle, which was constantly visible in a dark room or when the image had dark colors. Of course, I sent it for service and the response I received was that they didn't see anything like that. Obviously, I was hallucinating... However, when I got it back, the problem had disappeared. I never found out if they fixed it and sold me garbage or if it magically fixed itself... In July 2023, 4 months after the warranty expired, it started experiencing the restarts that other users have reported. The technicians told me it's a panel damage and it's not worth repairing. In short, 600€ went down the drain because this particular device is trash.

I have it here for 7 months. It doesn't have the clouding phenomenon that I saw in other reviews, after checking again in case I have a different model: qe55q60aa.
I have the 55", I am very satisfied with both the picture and the sound, for the use I make, which is to watch TV and movies. And from YouTube when I play music it's fine.
I don't play games, I don't have an opinion, nor have I connected other devices to it other than my wireless phone. Very user-friendly menu, in general I haven't had any issues so far.

As previous users have mentioned, I also experienced the "clouding" issue (only noticeable at night in a dark room, with a black image on the screen). Unfortunately, I read the reviews after purchasing it... Following the evaluation and after informing Samsung's technical department, who acknowledged the situation after inspection, their response was that "it is within specifications"!!! It seemed unbelievable to me to the point where I thought they were joking. I told them that after a year of everything being fine, suddenly these clouds appear and they are within specifications??? Yes, they continue to tell me!!! This is the second Samsung TV I have purchased and the last...

I had no problem, the image was fine and the functions were nice. The remote control charges with a mobile charger (type C) or you have to leave it upside down to charge with the light. When I first opened it, the remote control didn't work and I got upset, but then I realized that I had to perform a programming function. Otherwise, it's fine.

It was purchased for an elderly couple who watch news, informative shows, and Greek series.
The sound is disappointing on the HD channels of Digea, unbearable on the non-HD ones (Kontra, Extra, etc.). It is difficult to follow when there is speech. It also has microphone feedback.
The sound options make no difference, no matter how much I tried through the equalizer.

The most pathetic thing in qled 4k is circulating. The company has deceptive advertising for the product, claiming to have the ultimate black. Ultimate black, when at night the lights from the side led are visible at the edges. Ultimate black, when at night you see a cloud in the middle of the screen. For the company, this is acceptable, and of course, you can't do anything if 14 days pass and you don't notice it in time. No trade address, no technicians who take the photos and tell you that they have been having such issues lately, nothing else can be done. The previous qled 4k from 2019 simply surpasses it. It's a shame for such a company to reach the bottom in terms of quality.

    update 25-11-2022.

The clouding phenomenon has now spread to the entire panel of the TV and the side led lights are now visible all around the frame. I have now decided that the company is even worse than Chinese products.

I bought the 43'' model in August 2022. It's worth the 440 euros I paid for it in terms of picture quality. The sound is lacking, which is understandable for such slim TVs. I'm also concerned that, unlike my previous Samsung, it doesn't play all the videos from my camera on the hard drive, and it takes relatively longer to open folders with videos and photos on the hard drive.

    Positive:
    - Excellent image
    - Good motion handling
    - Fast menu

    Negative:
    - Very poor sound, meaning an extra speaker is necessary.
    - Does not deliver 100% deep black as one would expect from a VA panel. Its contrast is approximately 3000/1, which is marginally acceptable.

After a month with her, I have to say that at first I had a hard time getting used to her, mainly because of the menu and her remote control. She looks amazing in picture. I didn't make any additional settings, the only thing I changed is the color in the cold setting. The sound is weak, so I connected her to a stereo and it's okay. In conclusion, I want to say that for use as a TV and for applications, she is a worthwhile proposition. Additionally, she belongs to the f category in terms of energy consumption, unlike others that are more power-hungry. For the 55" that I got for €529, I think it's value for money. It remains to be seen how she holds up over time because I see many reviews that encountered faulty televisions.
