The FX3's full-frame image sensor features light-gathering techniques for capturing sharp and suitable images even in low light. The standard ISO sensitivity of 80-102400 for movies is expandable up to 409600.
The FX3 has an exceptional dynamic range of 15+ stops, for indoor shots with good lighting, as well as outdoor shoots at any time of the day and night. Capture every detail and enjoy cinematic color grading.
Capture the moment in cinematic 4K resolution, with shallow depth of field, stunning bokeh effect, and the cinematic freedom provided by a full-frame sensor.
The S-Cinetone color, developed for Sony's renowned FX9, is the default profile on the FX3 for cinematic expression. It has been precisely tuned to the requirements of modern content creators, with rich color and natural skin tones that match other cameras in the cinema line without grading.
Even at high frame rates, detailed 4K images are captured, thanks to the high-precision AF and the high-speed reading capabilities of the FX3. The slow and quick motion (S&Q) functions give you full control over the frame rate, for beautiful slow-motion sequences up to 5x (with 24p output).
The S-Log3 gamma curve and S-Gamut3.Cine allow for high-quality color reproduction over a wide dynamic range and easy video matching with footage from other cameras in the same series during post production. The HDR HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) picture profile enables direct HDR (HLG) playback on compatible TVs without post production.
For demanding post-production workflows, 16-bit RAW output is available via HDMI to compatible external recorders, while XAVC HS 4K, XAVC S 4K, or XAVC S-I 4K and proxy files are simultaneously recorded in the camera. The RAW video output has a resolution of 4264 x 2408 [16:9], exceeding DCI-4K.
The wide-area AF with intelligent tracking uses focal-plane phase detection for steady subject tracking across the frame. The fast hybrid AF provides precise focus even when shooting with shallow depth of field and at high frame rates of 120p in 4K (QFHD).
Advanced tracking features for steady focus on the subject, allowing you to concentrate on composition. Real-time Eye AF for precise focus on face and eyes, and Real-time Tracking with subject recognition algorithms through Sony's artificial intelligence.
The FX3 features seven AF transition speeds for easy quick focusing and five AF subject shift sensitivity settings, allowing the user to adjust how easily the AF will change or remain locked on the subject. Additionally, you can select the focus subject simply by touching the LCD screen.

The fx3 is a camera that introduces you to the cine line, with different perspectives for creating cinematic-level content with a camera that you can almost fit in your pocket, at an incredibly low price, it’s truly amazing!!! I won’t delve into its technical specifications, there are countless reviews, with the latest firmware update 6.0 I think it has almost become a cinema camera with real 24 fps, shutter angle finally, without flickering, integration of 3D Lut very important, mode for anamorphic lens etc... in combination with a stable cinematic manual lens the results exceed expectations. Personally, I find it a perfect camera, for this reason, I have two, for its price and size, compared to what it offers. Almost 15+ stop dr via atomos ninja in prores raw, slog3 and cine EI with dual base iso 800 and 12800, where in the latter there is no camera to compete with it. For someone who does not have the corresponding accessories to support it so that the camera can deliver 100% of its capabilities, they should take into account how the accessories to make it a real cinema camera far exceed the initial cost of the camera itself, for this reason, I urge potential buyers to be aware that just with the camera they will not achieve the results they imagine or have seen in some review.
