  It doesn't have a screw in the middle to tighten or loosen. It's wedge-shaped with a counter against the wall. You find the distance you want and extend the pipes 3 centimeters more and wedge it in. It doesn't go back for anything. In case of a measurement error, the pipes must be completely detached from each other by pulling. It comes out with the mechanism and you rearm the large pipe to repeat the process. Guys, we want to install a curtain rod, not learn how to solve rocket launchers. I can think of 3 or 4 ways how an accident could happen because the grip against the wall is strong. 4 for the originality of the mechanism or for the cuts in the construction and for the hassle until I understood the mechanism. From me, it's a yes and it moves on to the next phase.

  Very good construction, very stable arm and very beautiful. If you accidentally open it more than you want, remove the stopper from the thicker of the 2 tubes and pull back the thinner one to the point you want. This is to avoid misleading... some reviews that have been made.
