Amazing machine. 6 levels depending on how exposed you want the blade. Personally, level 4/2 is more than enough for shaving every other day and very comfortable. It's a beast; it doesn't get damaged. It fell from a shelf 2.5 meters high onto the head and nothing happened to it. Very impressive. You buy it and you don't look for another one for a lifetime.
It provides a very good shave and you can adjust it to your measurements. It is heavy and sturdy. However, it is expensive and not visually appealing enough (for its price).
Suitable for both experienced and beginners, as it is adjustable (by changing plates).
I chose the 6S for a comfortable and fast shave and with the ability to choose plates according to the needs of each moment.
After a few shaves (with plates 3, 4, and 5), I think I did well.
Very beautiful and high-quality box that I think can also be used for carrying it during a possible trip.
Let me start with the most important thing, and trust me, you won't cut yourself with this machine. Personally, since I got it, I shave every day and I haven't felt any irritation that I would have with other ones.
1-2- and 3 levels are for sensitive areas like the head. From there and above, you can shave fearlessly. Of course, you might need a second pass, it's not so aggressive to say I clean with one pass, actually I haven't found any like that for myself. What thrilled me is that, as I said at the beginning, even if you want to cut yourself, it won't let you, no matter how rushed or careless you are.
It's made of steel and has weight in its whole body, which helps me not to apply pressure myself.
For the experts of traditional shaving, it might seem soft. I don't know, it's a matter of taste. Good shaves for those who choose it
The most value for money machine...what do you mean by value for money if it's expensive...yes, but it's stainless steel and if the hobby hole called p.x. doesn't suck you in and you spend all your money, you can stay with this for a lifetime...why for a lifetime? because it gives great shaves and you won't want anything else...go ahead and get an r41 to say that you've learned about aggressive razors and also get a feather sr straight razor to say that you master the technique of straight razors...you'll ask me how much all these cost; with 280 and the 3 of them, you're done...by improving your technique, in no time you'll be an expert in all 3...there's more you'll say...there's also the honing stone if you're in the mood for sharpening...what do you say, mate, will I spend 280? if you don't listen to me and buy cheap machines, you'll spend triple...go ahead and have good shaves...
Basically, it's like getting multiple machines in one. You get it and you're worry-free. The advantage is that it doesn't have a complex mechanism and you simply change the plates. This definitely makes it more durable over time.
From generation 2 to scale 3, it doesn't irritate at all and provides a close shave. I will definitely also get an open one in the future (muhle R41 stainless) to have the ultimate combination for many years.
The ultimate shaving machine!! Those of you who experiment with different machines, get this one and you'll be clean-shaven. Since I got it, I almost exclusively shave with this one. Built to last 18 lifetimes, this machine provides the smoothest shave I have ever had. Personally, I love the matte finish, it gives you the feeling that it's made of titanium. It has a great weight that allows the machine to shave almost effortlessly without any irritation or cuts. I highly recommend it, 10/10.
It shaves without irritations even though the first time I used it with 6-day-old beard, I put on the number 6, then the 3, and then the 1, but I wasn't careful and I cut myself. But even the 3 was enough to not be comfortable on my own skin, so I prefer the 2 more. The soap I use is Soap Commander Integrity (unscented), my skin is hypersensitive, very delicate, I suffer from dermatitis mastocytosis, the reason I wanted a stainless steel razor is because I have done a special test and I have a lot of chromium in my body and I didn't want to try another chrome-plated razor (I have the Lord L6) in case it absorbed my skin more than it should (me and my insecurities). I don't intend to buy such an expensive razor again, and if I lost it, I would buy it again.
Excellent machine...
- Made of solid stainless steel.
- Excellent precision in construction, resulting in perfect blade alignment.
- Ability to use different plates that change the shaving depth, even with the most aggressive plate it remains a mild machine.
- Price, fair for the material and construction quality.
- Provides very comfortable and safe shaves.
- Provides the best and safest "against the grain" shave compared to all the machines I have (with plate 2)
After a lot of research, I decided to invest in this machine, as it is considered one of the best. Unfortunately, after several shaves, one of the blades does not provide the same shaving experience on both sides. It is a great disappointment for the amount of money I spent.
Also, I expected it to be more aggressive without meaning that it doesn't cut. Finally, a small flaw it has is that it clogs relatively easily and is more difficult to rinse compared to other machines during shaving.
One of the top safety razors that exist, if not the top. It generally has a "gentle" character, as even the most aggressive setting (the sixth one) is not so... aggressive. It is the appropriate tool that combines multiple shaving options and durability over time. Of course, it is also beautiful! I would say that the Edwin Jagger DE89 and Merkur 34C are at the aggression levels of settings 3/4. If you have made your "journey" into the world of traditional shaving, have tried some razors, and want to... reach an Ithaca, that one can easily be called Rockwell 6S!
