BIOSPOT chlorine effervescent tablets, approved by the National Organization for Medicines (EOF) as surface disinfectants, have sodium dichloroisocyanurate (NaDCC) as their main ingredient, a solid chlorine compound that is mixed with effervescent and stabilizing ingredients before being compressed into tablet form.

BIOSPOT chlorine effervescent tablets offer clear advantages over hypochlorites: They are stable for 5 years. They provide accuracy in the amount of active chlorine they contain. They are convenient and easy to use, simply added to clean water. They are economical to use, minimizing the risk of under-dosing or over-dosing with the use of tablets. 

They are easy to store and distribute to users without the risk of leakage. They are much safer compared to liquid chlorine for the personnel using them. They are less corrosive than common hypochlorite solutions. They have greater biocidal action compared to hypochlorite solutions, especially in the presence of organic pollutants. In water solution, one tablet gives an almost neutral pH (6.0-7.0) as opposed to sodium hypochlorite which gives a solution pH of 9.0-12.0.
