Use: desktop but also to play while doing chores at home.
For music, gaming, movies. Combined with a cheap class-d amplifier.
I listen to a lot of music. I have gone through various speakers over the years and on one hand, I want the sound to be clear and vibrant, on the other hand, I don't want it to be tiring on the ears and when I turn off the music, I want to feel like I had drills in my ears without it being boring as if I'm listening to music in an elevator. I have never found something that achieves such a balance, until I came across these.
Their sound is clear, neutral with a slight inclination towards brightness without being tiring. The lows have to do with how close they are to the sound. They come with plugs if they are boomy. Typically, it says 65hz and above as frequency response, but I definitely measured at least 50-55hz at satisfactory decibels. Even at 35hz, you feel pressure in your ears if you turn it up louder. If you want them for music only, in my opinion, the subwoofer is unnecessary - of course, it also depends on the acoustics of the room. If you want a home theater experience, it is obvious that you need a subwoofer. For near field, they are very good, as the mids/highs are still present even at low volumes. There are also the 3030i speakers which have very strong bass and low frequencies, but you need to increase the volume to bring out the mids/highs, which may not be suitable for near field, especially if you want to play at low volumes.
Music: I would describe them as clear and "fun" to listen to. As their designer said, it doesn't mean that every speaker should be 100% flat and faithful. If you want them for studio recordings, you won't go for these. It is a nice and entertaining experience to listen to music with these speakers, I can't describe it differently. They have a small dip at 2k hz and the highs roll off smoothly, resulting in a warm feeling without losing brilliance in the sound. Soundstage and imaging are good. In my opinion, the speakers need to not be too close to you and have minimal to almost no tilt towards the head. Otherwise, I found that there was not good diffusion at 1k hz (although it may be a room issue as it doesn't have good acoustics).
Gaming: Tested on: Apex Legends: I was shocked by how realistic the gunshots sounded. I thought I was back on a shooting range. The sound of the weapons is present, bright, and realistic. You feel the impact on your body. Tested on League of Legends: It sounds fine, although it's not a game to test speakers.
Construction: Beautiful and without the (magnetic) grilles, they are a jewel that adds to your space. They have a large cabinet but they don't look bad on a desk.
If you want them for a large living room, in my opinion, you should go for the 3030i or something else.

Did you find this review helpful? I don't give it 5 stars just for fun. When it simply does its job, I give it 4 out of 5. I bought them for 279. They replaced my Edifier 2+1 subwoofer that cost over 400 euros. No comparison, I hear details that I couldn't before. Warm sound that comes to mind as soon as you hear it, "full sound". I have them with the Fosi Audio BT20A amplifier. I use them on a desktop PC at a distance of 70-80 centimeters, for gaming, movies, etc., for everything. It responds well to the equalizer. I also want to mention that at least for use on the computer at a close distance, it matters where they are positioned. For me, I have found that they should form a triangle, meaning they should be slightly behind my head, with each speaker having a slightly backward line from the ear, not exactly above it. And I also want to say that they are beautiful, you enjoy looking at them

Yes, they are worth their money! They are just as I expected. Of course, since Friday 29.11.19 until now, they only play lullabies... and movies at low volume. When they settle, it will show.
