In 20 (maybe more) years, this is the third in a row that we have bought. The support points remain those of the first. They break: a) The lower plastic rim breaks over time at the point where it has the guide on the door to open. b) The lid at the support point of the metal protrusion. Tip: Do not apply pressure to "pack down" the trash because it seems sturdy, show it a little kindness (but you will forget). If you are handy, you can repair the damages with a little metal hoop and appropriate screwing (or riveting). They could a) have a solid guide instead of saving plastic and b) also have more plastic material at the support point of the lid.

In a rectangular cabinet, I think the installation would be very easy. It works fine even though it doesn't support perfectly at the bottom. We have it installed for 3 weeks.
