Is it true that "He who ages last, ages best"?.. Maybe. Gerasimos, however, is aging very poorly. And that's because he's aging poor, alone, and -worst of all- because he's aging with his pet dog Zacharias. Zacharias, on the other hand, as he ages, hates the whole world, but having only Gerasimos around, he torments him incessantly with his poisonous grumbling. Occasionally, he also torments Charalambos, Gerasimos' friend, the vigorous elderly man with senile dementia and youthful libido. He might be aging better than everyone else, partly because he doesn't have a dog and partly because he's convinced that all women like him.
