Negatives: It does not fit in a standard electrical box as the description states.
Positives: Once installed, it works perfectly. It has been used for both lighting and for remote control of the garage door
I have about 50 at home and I have been watering 6.5 acres from my phone for 2 years, a very reliable product even though it is from China.
Decent intermediate switch without grounding connection, only with phase and neutral, has options to be included in an alarm circuit lighting, simple remote controlled switch, momentary contact, etc. with a significant disadvantage that it does not have a cold contact so it is only suitable for 220V devices.
Personally, I added an automation relay with a 220V coil and control voltage up to 30V to give a command to the intercom button (12V AC) at minimal cost but it should have been foreseen
Usage in garden lights for six months now. Amazing and incredible without...weirdness. Setup max two minutes and I mean it. Control with voice through Alexa (and eWeLink works great if you don't want to...talk). Very good WiFi range. Buy without hesitation. Price is ridiculous. It's been a year. No problems. It's part of the routine now. The best.
UPDATE
It's nearing 2 years. Perfect.
Easy installation, good wifi reception, ability to connect a switch for override without patents. It is quite small and if you have a suitable box (I think the new ones are deeper than the old ones) it can be hidden behind the switch. I use it to turn on outdoor lights with a timer and because it didn't fit in the old box, it simply hangs below the switch (in a spot where it is not visible though).
It is not suitable for Greek switches because it does not fit on the wall, and if it fits, it will be very tight. Additionally, you need to install a neutral wire that no switch has. Go directly to the device that does not require a neutral wire.
Easy to install, compatible with Tasmota Firmware and EspHome, does not heat up during use, and works correctly as long as there is sufficient wifi coverage to avoid random disconnections.
Simply flawless. I have connected it as an intermediate switch for lighting with aller retur switches, the installation is very simple if you know what you are doing.
Firstly, it does not fit in a wall switch.
Secondly, the quality is tragic: as soon as you hold down the plastic for 5 seconds, the switch simply breaks, and when I opened it, the small switch was detached inside.
Thirdly, clearly it does not support AP WPS... and it does not have a QR code at the bottom for an even easier connection
Very good, it does exactly what it promises and more!
But.. it doesn't fit in the switch box at all and of course it needs a neutral wire to work, something that doesn't exist in about eight out of ten houses.. depth and neutral wire!
So if it is intended for a plasterboard box and there is a socket or a junction box nearby to bring the neutral wire, then yes, it is perfect!
Value for money products of stable value from a company that has not concerned me in anything I have bought so far!
Easy installation (Sonoff follows the same connection pattern in most of its products).
In older electrical installations,
it is difficult to "fit" it behind the switch as the electrical box is shallow.
Sonoff's products have been breaking down, and their application has gone from bad to worse. There are now cheaper solutions to get your job done!
It works quite well, fit into a typical thermostat box for radiator control. Accepts tasmota firmware for custom implementations.
I connected the minir2 to a relay for controlling the water heater remotely. It works with the app and through Google Home. The problem is with the button contact, which doesn't always respond, unlike the previous sonoff mini V1 that worked perfectly.
You take the switch and a relay (10-12€) and connect it even to your water heater (with the advice of an electrician always). It works properly through the APP (you can also set a timer with repetition so you don't have to remember every time). I also use it with ALEXA without any issues.
Solves the problem of managing it up close or from your smartphone. The most useful feature is that with immediate response, you can turn on the light from the physical switch if you have closed it from your mobile.
Possible issues:
1. Requires Neutral wire (most switches only have Phase wire)
2. Requires wall drilling, but only 3 centimeters deep.
Other than that, it is amazing
It gave me quite a hard time to connect.. but eventually it connected.. As for its functionality, I use it and it is very good, it also sends immediate notifications in case there is a change in status.
As others have said, it doesn't fit in recessed switch boxes, neither in old nor in new ones. I had to dig at least 3 centimeters deep into the backs of my own boxes to make it fit.
Also, it requires a neutral wire to work. If you have an outlet below the switch, it's very easy, with the thinnest neutral wire on the market it works effortlessly if you don't connect the Sonoff to take the neutral from the light fixture but leave it as it is connected. However, if the line doesn't have an outlet, then there probably isn't a neutral wire nearby, so the hassle becomes significant.
Because I installed them during renovation, these tasks didn't bother me at all. They were the best money I've ever spent. The switches work properly (including the double-triple aller retour switches) and I have automation, voice control, and control from my mobile. For their price, they are surprisingly good.
The best solution to convert lights to smart while keeping the switches and on/off function as before. It requires some electrical knowledge for installation. It does not fit in a switch box, it requires a little digging. It works with aller retour. Very reliable. I had bought the first ones 3 years ago from China because they were not yet available here and they work non-stop.
Easy to install, responds correctly but kids forget it doesn't fit in the switch box! It requires digging! You won't have a problem on a plasterboard wall. However, you can fit it in a junction box if it's not full, but you'll still encounter damage. Only for this reason, it gets 3 stars, otherwise it's perfect.
It worked immediately. The connection is very simple. I mistakenly thought it had a dimmer, it doesn't have one.. for those who want to know.
It works perfectly. With appropriate connections, it supports a simple switch (and makes it smart) or any other retrofit if you prefer (although the cables must happen to be convenient there).
I have connected a total of 4 so far. I first bought one "just to see" and then the rest because I was satisfied. It works with a 2.4 network but also when I'm not at home with 4G. The eWeLink application is easy to use, everything is easy, you connect, it synchronizes on its own basically, you don't do anything. Just eWeLink takes a few seconds to open. That's the "only downside". I have set the lights to turn on and off when we are not at home (for the cats).
Cheap, simple to connect and operate. I will buy more Sonoff devices.
I wonder how I lived without these until now.
*Next stop, E27 bulbs for the balcony....
For its price, it is definitely worth it, but I was a little disappointed with the excessive two cables it needs. But still, forgive me for complaining
It does what it promises and more.
I would suggest putting them in junction boxes instead of switches because they don't fit easily and they will also damage the wall if you dig 55-60 inches
Very good. It does everything it promises. If it was a little smaller, you would be able to place it more easily inside the box. Now you will struggle a bit.
Very good. Small in size, with a little effort it will fit in the box and do its job properly. You will need to take neutral from one socket (for example) in order for the connection to be done correctly.
