Update 1/7/23 after a year and a half, with minimal (about 250 coffees in total) usage.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PARTICULAR MACHINE.
Even though I made a total of 250 coffees and took good care of it by frequently rinsing and descaling it twice, it started showing a red light and that's where the trouble began.
After contacting Nespresso (after going through the whole process of them verifying that there is a problem with the device, which includes remote access to the camera of my phone through a link they send you, and who told you guys that we want you to connect to our phone camera? Have you heard of Viber?), they asked for the purchase receipt in order to perform a free inspection of the device. Anyway.
In order to proceed with the process, they wanted the purchase receipt, which I couldn't find. Unfortunately, I DON'T HAVE THAT DAMN RECEIPT (kill me, guys), and then they informed me that they want 40€ for the inspection plus the shipping costs from the island and the repair cost. So, I have to pay for another machine at the price of a new one just to get it repaired? Why not get a new one instead?
I believe that companies of this size should treat their customers more professionally. They have a complete record of the orders I have made and they saw that the machine has made very few coffees, yet they refused to perform a free inspection.
To cut it short, I took it to an external technician for inspection and he told me that the (piece of junk) called Vertuo Next had burned the circuit board in just a year and a half of usage. Never again Nespresso.
STAY AWAY.
This is the first espresso machine we bought after a lot of research in the market. It came with a box that had various capsules inside to try different coffee varieties in different ml amounts.
Tip: Before you try to operate it, it would be good to either read the instructions or watch the videos on the Nespresso YouTube channel.
In the positives:
- It has a very beautiful design.
- It automatically reads the capsule as soon as you insert it and dispenses the right amount of coffee.
- It produces a very nice crema, but it doesn't last long in the larger coffees (230ml and above).
- The quality of the coffee is very good and both me and my wife like it.
- The capsules are easily discarded once you lift the lid.
In the negatives:
- It makes quite a noise during coffee preparation.
- I'm not sure about this, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it doesn't have compatible capsules in the market due to being Vertuo.
Overall, it is a very good choice for a morning coffee or for coffee with friends since it has 500ml capsules and it's worth the money. I don't give it 4 stars because of the noise, but I'm satisfied with my purchase!
