TCX 1797105G X-FIVE.4 GORE-TEX BLACK boots with a waterproof and breathable PTFE GORE-TEX membrane of 1.4 and 20,000 mm hydrostatic pressure for effective protection. Ideal for use on bikes with resistance up to 700 °C.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
I bought these boots through the internet without trying them on, due to the COVID situation, with the idea that I would only visit the store if I didn't like them or if they didn't fit me for an exchange. I chose the size by following exactly the measurement instructions for my feet and the size chart from the Manufacturer's website, which proved to be very accurate. I usually wear size 43 or 44 in shoes, and the measurement showed 43 in this boot, which was exactly the size I needed.
Initial impressions from the first days of use:
Very good quality, better than I expected, giving me the impression that they will probably last for a long time. The soles are exemplary, resistant but also comfortable for walking, and they do not slip at all (not even on wet tiles). The protections are satisfactory, considering that I wanted a comfortable boot that I could walk short distances with. The toe protections do not bother me while walking (they bother me when sitting deeply, but I don't intend to do any exercise with these boots!). The boot is quite comfortable for walking from the beginning (out of the box) and becomes even more comfortable after some use. I walked with them immediately with a very slight discomfort in the heel until half an hour after which the boot had already started to break in. Their fit is exemplary, and I can say that I walked for over an hour with these boots without any difficulty (they are not athletic shoes but they are very comfortable for boots). They are not particularly warm, which was desirable so that they can be worn both with thick socks in winter and with thin socks in spring. During a winter evening ride on the motorcycle at not particularly low temperatures, the toes in the front part of the boot started to cool down quite a bit after 20 minutes of wearing thin socks. On my motorcycle, the boot has an exemplary feel and does not bother me in any way. The integrated elastic protective for the gear lever is particularly soft (perhaps a bit softer than I would expect in a boot: you feel the lever as if you were wearing very soft shoes) and falls exactly on top of the lever, which comes into contact exactly in the center of the elastic protective when the boot "locks" on my footpeg (Suzuki GS500E). When stopped, I have excellent grip on all surfaces, dry or wet.
I have not yet tested the waterproofing (Gore Tex) as I have not yet ridden with them in heavy rain.
I would recommend these boots for everyday use (a combination of moderate/good protection and high comfort with Gore Tex waterproofing)
