It is considered: an expectorant, antitussive, anti-asthmatic, anti-arthritic, anti-rheumatic, anti-coccydynia, diuretic, anti-diarrheal, stomach soother, and antispasmodic.

It is also believed to promote menstruation. It is used as a soothing remedy for indigestion, nerve disorders, and gastritis. It is indicated for smokers for lung cleansing.

The favorite drink on cold nights was the infusion of wild mint. Some would boil it together with dried shoots and a red hot pepper. That way, the drink would become "quite spicy" and extremely warming for those who went out to work in the fields.

Ways to use: It can be made into a fragrant infusion, extract, or a culinary herb. We inhale the steam when we have a congested nose and drink cold infusions, which, despite being diaphoretic, cool us down.
