Extending the effective focal length of select Tokina and Nikon F-mount lenses, this Kenko Teleplus HD pro 2x DGX teleconverter allows you to achieve even greater reach from your lenses. The specialized design maintains full communication between the lens and Nikon F-mount cameras in order to retain automatic exposure metering and autofocus capabilities.
The 2x teleconverter effectively doubles your focal length and has a light loss of two stops. Additionally, the advanced optical design features seven elements in five groups, and a multi-layer anti-reflective coating has been applied to individual elements to reduce flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color performance.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
UPDATE: The adapter does not work through the FTZ II adapter on Nikon Z cameras.
Incredible tool! Kenko has created what Nikon (and perhaps Canon) cannot make for their customers and their lenses. This specific Teleconverter works incredibly well EVEN WITH Nikon KIT LENSES (those with weather sealing). All electronic functions work flawlessly. Metering, automatic shooting, Exif data. Only the autofocus depends on the speed of the lens (generally, if the TC gives the camera less light than f/8, then the Autofocus does not work). The glass is of excellent quality and its effect is negligible. Its construction is sturdy and gives a nice feel in the hand.
For the money, it is worth it and then some. Kenko has made the best TC compared to Nikon's TCs which are €200 more expensive, as well as the rest of the competition, since they do not support half or more of the lenses. This is because Kenko TCs are the only ones whose optical elements do not protrude from the F mount, so even lenses with weather sealing fit! WARNING! This may not apply to all lenses.
P.S. The photos are taken with the 70-300 f/4.5-6.3 kit which converts to 140-600 f/9-13 in good light conditions, with no post-processing on an APS-C camera.
