I have normal to long eyelashes that easily curl. However, they lack volume and are light brown, which makes them not very noticeable.
With the idole mascara, they appear even longer than they are, thicker, and more curled. It also separates them and doesn't create clumps. Its texture is excellent, a characteristic of Lancome. It doesn't smudge or run.
For everyday use, one coat is enough to accentuate the lashes and give a more open look, not too intense, with length but not excessive volume. For a night out, a second coat is enough to make the lashes even more intense, with more volume, but still without sticking together and without clumps. It is the second mascara from Lancome that I have purchased and it is equally high quality.

Maybe it's my eyelashes, maybe it's the mascara...
However, the result was not what the product promised. It doesn't lengthen them, it doesn't make them appear thicker, and the product doesn't last. I gave it to my 18-year-old daughter, who has long and full lashes, and she was very satisfied. Therefore, in my opinion, it doesn't work for thin to medium-length lashes.

  I love Lancome mascaras and I have tried different versions from the most expensive to the most affordable ones that this company offers. I consider Idole to be the most remarkable, as it lasts for many hours, it doesn't smudge my eyes in areas where the eyelash touches the skin even after wearing it for many hours. Additionally, it easily comes off with a simple mousse makeup remover.

  My favorite mascara!
  I have hooded eyes with normal light brown lashes. Over time, I have tried several (Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara - Estée Lauder, Dior Show, Supra Volume - Clarins, Lash Clash Extreme Volume Mascara - YSL) without any particularly satisfying me.
  This mascara has the following positives:
  • It is easy to manage (does not smudge, easy curved brush, lightweight and flexible)
  • It gives a very natural result (can be worn easily during the day, maybe not suitable for a dramatic evening look)
  • It separates and curls the lashes uniformly without weighing them down (no excess product remains on the lashes and they do not stick together)
  • It can provide from a little to a lot of volume and length (depending on how you apply it). It offers, therefore, many options: from a light everyday look to a much more intense one.
  I will definitely buy it again!

  I am particularly picky about my eyelashes and I have been searching for a suitable mascara for a long time. This one satisfies me completely! It leaves them soft from morning until night (I stay painted for many hours), separates them and most importantly lifts them up.   It separates the lashes very well. I use it in the morning when I don't want a very intense result since my lashes are already long and lifted. It gives a more natural result that is not sufficient for the evening. For the morning, it's fine

  It has been advertised a lot but I didn't like it. Minimal length and minimal volume. The brush is soft but separates the lashes. However, it doesn't lift them. On the contrary, I felt like they were half lifted - half fallen, something that I have never seen even with cheap mascara for 3€.

  I have bought both the regular and the waterproof ones and they are perfect, they make my eyelashes longer and give them volume. The downside is that the brush doesn't suit me very well and it doesn't come off easily with makeup remover, especially the waterproof one, but I would buy it again.

  Maybe I should have read the reviews first... I was not satisfied, especially since I had bought the Lancome Hypnose mascara, which is not playable!! It does not give impressive results as the brush promises, it hurts when I apply it.... it just makes them very black with 2 coats... it does not easily come off with makeup remover and it clumps!!!! Plus, 8ml is not enough for a mascara... I WOULD NOT BUY IT AGAIN!!!

  At first, the brush is frustrating - the lashes need to be treated initially with another mascara (old one) to stabilize them, otherwise the Idole sticks them together. However, after using it for a while and managing to remove product from the brush, it becomes manageable

  It is a very good product, lifts, separates, and lengthens. I tried it from a magazine sample, if it dries a little I imagine it will perform even better! It doesn't do an amazing job in density, but regardless, it is a very nice mascara!

  Excellent mascara. After trying it out from the magazine sample, I went ahead and bought it. As a fan of Lancome, I generally consider it to be the best mascara. It separates the lashes without weighing them down and it doesn't tire you out during makeup removal. I highly recommend it without hesitation.

  Using for years and almost exclusively the drama, Monsieur Big, and Hypnose, initially I got it from a magazine in mini size considering that Lancome is a guarantee in mascaras, to see if it is really something better. At the beginning of use, like with all mascaras, it seemed to me that the product it produced in the eye was not enough and I was not impressed... After several uses, however, I can say that it is very good, with several passes like I do with all mascaras, it gives volume, the brush is soft which I do not prefer, but in this case it has enough resistance for all the lashes to pass through and in the end it gives a result with a lot of volume, intense color, and without clumping even after 3 or 4 passes... I will definitely buy it again, especially after purchasing a waterproof Monsieur Big that remained almost half because even with the best makeup remover it does not come off easily, resulting in me seeing that some lashes were lost from rubbing for a period of time.

  I used the Lancome drama mascara alternately with the Chanel volume mascara, and I decided to try the idole as well. My lashes are straight and have a hard time holding a curl, which is why I had settled for the above two. The idole is much better and provides maximum naturalness. If I apply it carefully, it doesn't even look like I'm wearing mascara. Absolutely amazing
