  If you don't have high demands, it will do the job for you. Just the cards in this series (SOLO and DUO) are trash. Poor signal-to-noise ratio, and many other issues with Hi-Fi audio recording. I have two solo and two duo. But I also have the old one (with metal shielding, not in a plastic box like these), the legendary PROFIRE 610 from M-Audio. No comparison, night and day. I wonder how some people give it 5*. They probably listen on small computer speakers.

  At this price, there aren't many options. I was torn between this one and the Behringer. In terms of sound, it is satisfactory, I connected it to a dynamic microphone sl 84c. The only issue is with the gain selector, when it's set between 9 and 10 it makes a huge jump and gives too much gain causing peaks no matter what you connect it to. Setting the gain at around 95% produces good volume with a dynamic microphone, with condenser and phantom power you don't need as much gain. In terms of software, it's quite basic, personally it doesn't let me choose the sample rate and it's locked. However, overall it does its job flawlessly.

  I use it as a sound card from DAW to speakers. I downloaded a driver but something went wrong in the DAW, so I removed it and it plays with the drivers that Windows has. For this use, it is very good. I haven't connected any microphones yet. I haven't downloaded any software yet. No noise in the preamps, everything is at maximum and no hissing. Plastic casing but sturdy. Very good for the price.

  3 stars because:
  It has satisfactory playback (without significant distortion), but when you connect a condenser microphone to either input (with phantom power, of course), it simply doesn't record correctly. You hear some distorted sounds that you think are coming from the cable or the connector, but in reality, it's a flaw or limitation of the card. However, the same problem doesn't exist when recording sound from the rec out.
