The Tamron lens maintains the fast maximum aperture of F2.8 throughout the zoom range (unlike variable aperture lenses where the maximum aperture changes as you zoom).
Thanks to the F2.8 and high optical performance, it allows you to capture your subjects with clear details from wide angle to telephoto.
The three main advantages of the fast F2.8 aperture are as follows:
- Ability to shoot successfully in lower light levels
- Beautiful and dreamy bokeh
- Better control of depth of field
Structurally, the lens includes 16 elements in 12 groups, and was created with the pursuit of superior optical performance in mind, using an effective distribution of two GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements and one hybrid aspherical lens element. The optical design ensures high resolution and high contrast not only in the center of the image but also at the corners and edges.
