Natural Whetstone from Crete Ladakono 6000/8000 Grit. A natural knife sharpening stone from Crete (whetstone), known as 'ladakono'. A product from the Elounda area. Its official name is "Chert".

It is made of 96-99% silicon dioxide (SiO2) in micro-crystalline form. The sharpening quality ranges between 6,000-8,000 Grit, ranking it among the highest qualities globally. Water or oil is used as a sharpening lubricant.

It is recommended to use the whetstone with soapy water. At the end of use, the stone is rinsed with water. If oil is initially used, it must continue to be used with oil, with boiling the stone for cleaning if a change to water is required.
