The app is generally mediocre, the camera is relatively good, the most important thing is that it generally connects to a recorder (I put it on an expensive hikkvision) it works relatively well with onvif protocol and the factory code is 888888 which when you set it up on the app you must change it if you are going to connect it to a recorder.
This company produces the worst products in ip cameras. Having Pi-hole, I noticed that it constantly connects to "baidu.com", maybe more than 15 times per minute. In general, I had to block 4 different addresses to feel safe. I would rather go to Xiaomi or Reolink a thousand times
I have 4 C7824WIP units. So I know how to install them. Umm, no! This one gives you a hard time. Whether with a cable, without, via WiFi, via QR, it just won't install on EYE4. After about an hour, I managed to install it on EYECLOUD, otherwise it would have been useless! Truly disgraceful.
Everything is fine. Quality in the image and easy to compare with the no-name Chinese ones that don't even have a page on the internet from the manufacturer. There is a website for the manufacturer of this camera for anything you need, from instructions to programs for computer and mobile
Good on paper, less good (but not for throwing away) in practice.
The good:
1. ptz all ok
2. satisfactory clarity day - night
3. ethernet port
4. mounting screw on base, integrated on camera body
5. satisfactory battery life (about 3 hours) for "emergency" situations where use is required in a location without power supply
6. Easy sharing of video feed to other devices
The bad:
1. the native iOS app has several issues, with the main one being during initial camera setup, where it does not recognize the ssid passphrase (resulting in NOT being able to connect the camera to WiFi - I did the initial setup on Android and then shared it to my iOS devices)
2. nightmare to transfer it to another network (see the hassle of initial setup/reset)
3. requires a special application (which does NOT work properly on apple silicon M1/pro/max) to manage the camera from your computer
4. relatively large size and "awkward shape" that does not facilitate carrying it in a backpack/bag
5. ugly ui during fullscreen view on native apps (e.g. trying to zoom activates ptz)
UPD 18/03/2022: After about 6 months of use, I consider it a completely wrong purchase (and any other model of the same brand) not because of the device but because of its application. For a while now, you can't buy space on the cloud and they don't do anything to fix the problem despite being informed. Money wasted!
I consider it a disadvantage that there is no way (or I haven't found it yet) to deactivate it from the mobile or computer application. Essentially, it is not suitable for home surveillance because as soon as you enter, the notifications and emails start. Either you have to turn it off before entering or unplug it from the socket.
